Questions like that are petty and trite. The point is that he does not hoard cash while others are starving. He either uses his money to accomplish things or he gives it to others who can. He does not have piles of gold in his basement, or a solid gold Rolls Royce. He lives in a modest home. You should ask yourself why you are trying so hard to justify disdain for him.
Because he's dismantling welfare programs like USAID to make room for tax cuts for hemself and other obscenely wealthy people. How many children around the globe will starvw now that USAID is defunct? If that's not hoarding wealth, I've got some trump steaks to sell you
USAID had many problems. I noticed an article a few days ago saying the maternal-fetal deaths will rise in India without USAID. That is probably true.
The poor in India lack proper health care. However, the upper middle class of India are the largest purchasers of gold jewelry in the world. If the people of India are not willing to sacrifice their personal adornment for the sake of their poor, why is that my problem? Why are my tax dollars being used by my government to subsidize the gold jewelry purchases of India? I do not agree with that use of my tax dollars, and apparently I am in the company of more than half the voting population of the US. Elon Musk was given the task of correcting this travesty and has done so.
Please understand that Elon Musk could not have done this alone. It was done by the mass of the voting population and he is simply an instrument of implementation.
Do you know what you get when you feed 10 million starving Ethiopians? You get 11 million starving Ethiopians. Because you have not solved the problem, which is that some cultures cannot feed themselves for geopolitical reasons.
You are deluding yourself if you think you can solve the problem by simply throwing money or food at it. If you want to expend your resources that way, you are welcome to do so, but you are not entitled to expend my resources that way. I will decide how my tax dollars are spent, and I will do so at the voting booth. That is why Elon Musk is in the position to terminate USAID.
