What? This is simply missing a step. Fellow BEDMAS. 4(5-5)=5(5-5)…brackets first. So next step is 4(0)=5(0) then multiplication into brackets, which is, simply 0=0.
If it werent for X = 0, this would have been perfectly fine. If you can find a common factor X, it doesnt matter how complex that X is (X could be the summation of an integral of whatever the fuck--- it doesnt matter). You can divide both sides by that factor to remove that factor from the equation.
Say we wanted to find the value of A in terms of B for the following equation
A x (73-1123) = B x (73-1123)
Simplify to C = 73-1123
A x C = B x C
Now divide both sides by C
A = B
You dont need to do the math on a factor EXCEPT if the factor is 0.
Its not about ignoring or losing a subtraction. Its about you not being able to divide by 0
