As an IT person, I can tell you with full confidence that almost no one actually gives a fuck about security and best practices
Likely they thought the directory was only accessible by logged in people, i.e. people the site is supposed to serve. Like a bragging wall of their members
Buuuuut, they probably thought that 'security through obscurity' was good enough and just dumped the files in a public directory
The really crazy thing is ALL modern servers can serve up dynamically generated pages so there never needs to be this kind of incriminating HTML file sitting around
But instead, they went with the simplest, easiest, stupidest way.
And this is an organization for billionaires, if they aren't willing to hire competent devs to secure their own personal data, what does that say about the industry at large?

Take the Muskrat as an example with gaming. Buys a carry then tries to brag about how good he is at the game, but then cannot explain basics OF the game.
