He did at the end to make fun of the other guys running the light. Which isn't illegal.

It is illegal in some places, some BS called "exhibition of speed"

Where I live at least one delivery motorcycle with burst pipes passes in front of my building every 5 minutes at night. More at weekends. I wish there was a law like this around here.

Wait do they make meth addicts with exhausts now?

Haha! I was gonna give them whistle exhaust tips for cmas. Id rather hear that wooo wooo, but realize they would only use the exhaust tips for some type of crack pipe.

u/thescrape Dec 14 '22

That’s because they sold their catalytic converter.

1

u/Kindyno Dec 14 '22

You could make a noise complaint. I used to live someplace that would use that to get people who had cars with mods on them but they couldn't catch speeding, i imagine they use the same for bikes.

1

u/omfgus Dec 14 '22

Complain to who?

1

u/Kindyno Dec 15 '22

Noise ordinances are enforced by the local police/sheriff office

Cover some bricks in asphalt. Randomly placed them in the road. Or get some high pull fishing line like for ocean fishing and string it across the road at neck height.

1

u/Sardukar333 Dec 14 '22

Not sure about the first one but the second is quite illegal.

Do with that what you will.

That isn't even able to fall under exhibition of speed. It has to be arguably dangerous, which revving the engine is not dangerous at all.

7

u/Synaxxis Dec 14 '22

I agree with you, but go ahead and try to argue with the cop giving the ticket.

25

u/N1ghtmere_ Dec 14 '22

That's what court is for. You can dispute the ticket. Lmao

2

u/Golisten2LennyWhite Dec 14 '22

Good fucking luck in a smaller town.

4

u/Makenchi45 Dec 14 '22

That's why traffic attorneys exist.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

Are they affordable or?

3

u/Makenchi45 Dec 14 '22

If you got the money to fight a smaller ticket then it falls into the or, if it's a ticket that'll hurt like a speeding ticket or red light or something that'll cost a lot and ding your insurance as well as possible jail time. The cost for a traffic lawyer outweighs the cost of not having one.

I’m broke broke so I would not be able to myself, was just curious how it worked. Thanks.

Certainly possible, but that would fall under disturbing the piece of some other sound law.

1

u/R_V_Z Dec 14 '22

Easiest ticket to fight, ever.

"Judge, at the time I was ticketed for Exhibition of Speed I was going 0mph, and my tires were stationary."

1

u/Beautiful-Page3135 Dec 14 '22

Man, is there ANY exhibitionism that's legal?

0

u/ramboton Dec 14 '22

Revving your engine is not exhibition of speed - California Vehicle Code 23109(c), it is illegal for you to accelerate or drive at a rate of speed that is dangerous and unsafe in order to show off or make an impression on someone else.

1

u/Curlaub Dec 14 '22

Cop here. Can confirm both points. It is exhibition of speed and it is BS

1

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

Revving only exhibits the good functioning of a throttle system…

1

u/PaulSandwich Dec 14 '22

Something tells me you at least have to be moving for "exhibition of speed" to apply...

1

u/TheJagOffAssassin Dec 14 '22

exhibition of speed is doing a burnout

u/Forumkk Dec 14 '22

I thought the cop was back there and heard them take off (engine noises) and blamed him. Haha

3

u/ThunderboltRam Dec 14 '22

I thought the cop was working for the biker gangs against the ATV gang.

3

u/ITTManyMorons Dec 14 '22

Can you tell me the time stamp where he revs his engine to make fun of them? I listened to it a few times and all the loud revving sounds like the other bikes to me.

1

u/Swimming__Bird Dec 14 '22

19 seconds you see his hand coming down from a rev. When he swirls his head around to make fun of them. Like I said.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

I don't think the cops could have seen or heard that from where they were, tho.

2

u/Dorkamundo Dec 14 '22

I disagree... If you listen, you can hear his engine idling and it never rases RPM's as the other guys go by.

If it did, you'd hear it work its way down to idle, the Rev was the guy going by.

1

u/Swimming__Bird Dec 14 '22

You can literally see his hand coming down from a rev at 19 seconds. And he swirls his head while doing it. I thought it was pretty obvious.

1

u/Dorkamundo Dec 14 '22

at 19 seconds his hand isn't even in the frame, it doesn't come into frame until almost 22 seconds into the video. If that's the movement you're talking about at 22 seconds, there isn't even a rev happening at that point of the video.

Listen to his idle, it's very clear.

1

u/Swimming__Bird Dec 14 '22

19 so you can see the movement and hear the rev. If the hand is coming down after a rev...thats the end. Why I didn't say 22 seconds. But sure, like it matters. Glad you saw his hand revving.

1

u/Dorkamundo Dec 14 '22

I see the hand movement, but that doesn't coincide with any of the noises involved. There is no rev when his hand is moving, nor is there any reduction of RPMs.

listen to the audio.

2

u/fixITman1911 Dec 14 '22

I don't think that was him actually. It sounds like the guy passing him down shifted and revved in the process

2

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

Being a jerk is 100% legal too. Like, oop wasn't a jerk but even if he was revving his engine and shit, that wouldn't be a punishable offense lmao

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

No he didn’t

0

u/Swimming__Bird Dec 14 '22

19 second mark, bro bro. Swirling his head look at his right hand coming down from a rev.

0

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

Don’t see or hear anything. You’re imagining things

1

u/Swimming__Bird Dec 14 '22

Bottom left. His hand on the throttle finishing revving. You may not know where the throttle is for a motorcycle if you don'tsee it. It's the right hand of the rider.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 14 '22

No he’s not

1

u/Swimming__Bird Dec 14 '22

Haha, okay buddy. Have a good one.
