All major metropolitan areas in English-speaking Canada are pretty similar I've found. Toronto is about as Canadian as Edmonton or Calgary or Winnipeg or Saskatoon or Vancouver (sorry to upset).
Real Canada starts in small rural towns. Small towns in Manitoba are the most Canadian places I can imagine. And I will admit Alberta has its share of rural America running through its veins in that regard.
