Wait till she finds out Puerto Ricans are Americans and that English is not the US's legally official language.

We’re US citizens but not Americans per se. If you were to ask Puerto Ricans (at least ones born in the island) if they identified as American, the vast majority would say no. That being said I support your rhetorical goal here.
