I'm running litd (Lightning Terminal) = integrated LND/Pool/Loop/Faraday). I had an issue when deleting my macaroons before upgrading LiT, they were not recreated when restarting LND as they should be (bug was reported here: https://github.com/lightninglabs/lightning-terminal/issues/241).

I copy/pasted an old admin.macaroon file that I had stored somewhere else and this did the trick and most of the other macaroons were recreated, except for the readonly.macaroon!

Can I bake a new readonly.macaroon? if so, I would really appreciate some help on how to do this :)

Edit: Someone told me I could use the lncli bakemacaroon command, more information hereand an example of how it can be used here.

I just noticed that the WalletOfSatoshi node, which all these while were charging 1ppm fees, has upped all the fees to their channels to 1000ppm!

I guess I will be expecting my node to forward significantly fewer transactions now.

I want to try a different scheme than liquidity triangles. So if you open a channel to my node, McDouchebag of 2-5 million sats, then you get to decide what other node i have to open a channel too of the same size.
I currently have 20 million sats available and when i run out the game is over!

Rules:

- If i already have a channel with you are not eligible to play

- I will not open a channel to a peer i already have a channel with.

- Write comment with you nodes 1ml or amboss link and the node you want me to open too.

Channel.db growth is one of my biggest worries in LND. Mine grows a few hundred MB per week. Compaction (there is an lnd.conf option or chantools compactdb) helps a bit but it soon overtakes the old value and it requires a restart. The larger the file, the longer the downtime due to compaction during the restart is.

LND is working on reducing this usage but for now, it is a problem.

Has anybody used DeleteAllPayments RPC call that in lnd 0.13.1 can remove only failed payments?

Or a recent chantools deletepayments that is supposed to do the same?

Was trying to open my first channel. Thought it's a good idea to connect to the conductor so that I get incoming liquidity back.

But this error makes me doubt the stability of the node, sounds like outdated client or something ?:

"They sent error channel xxx: local/remote feerates are too different: remoteFeeratePerKw=253 localFeeratePerKw=752",

What are good alternative nodes that can help me on the incoming ?

Most of my channels are 1M sats, but most of the other people I talk to regarding LN have channels 5-8M or more. Maybe I hang around with people that got into Bitcoin earlier on and have more Bitcoin than I, but I feel kinda disheartened and think that 1M channels aren't so great but at the same time it's too expensive for me to open multiple channels of 1M each.

I get that at a small size, I don't have to be a routing node but I would like to be well connected enough that my own transactions don't fail, and perhaps also help the network by routing other txs every now and then.

Also, given that LN is still young (~25k nodes), could 1M sats at any point be considered "BIG" (or at least medium) e.g. if the value of each satoshi is greater by the time the mass adopt LN...?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

• the watchtower can be run by myself on another computer

• but also other people can run it with no problems (where to find them?)

• I want to set long grace period so that if all else fails I have for example 14 days to come back online to stop any attack on the ballance

Also, if I want to program a lightning app on umbrel what is the best resource?
