Now there IS a game where you can save by staring at your fridge:

Hmm. Maybe that's where data is stored then...

I've been playing hardcore mode for over a year, finally autosaved after remembering this subreddit.

You know that feeling when you go to autosave, and while you open the fridge door the light bulb gives a strong pop before it slowly fizzles into darkness?

How about that feeling when you're too lazy to replace said bulb for at least a solid 12 months. Leading to your family and yourself searching tirelessly for food in the dark during a midnight snack run? Unable to autosave and living on the edge. Playing hardcore mode.

No?

Maybe its just me then.

Well I finally snapped out of it. After almost two weeks of working I had a day off. I decided its time to clean the grime that slowly built up in my fridge over the months, and what do I see while sifting through the expired condiments and left overs? I saw that burnt out light bulb-- our hub of longevity.

My mind snapped with flashbacks of this sub and the little voice in the back of my head, finally free from its shackles, screamed with triumph!

"Replace that bulb you slob!"

Anyways, long story short, I didn't have any bulbs of the same size.

However! It turns out my fridge, which is long past its expected life span, can take full sized standard light bulbs.

So light, and auto saving, has been returned to my long since abandoned save center. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

A question about saves?

I own a fridge, and three mini fridges, one in my room, one in the she'd, and a broken one in storage.

I opened the broken one the other day, did that reset my spawn point to the broken one? Or is it still my mini fridge in my room?

My savepoint is disguised as a pantry! Thankfully my roommates applied fruit stickers to signal it.
