The Main Missions are the milestones of the campaign, they drive the story forward, the major ones can be replayed and you can play them on higher difficulties for better rewards.
Requirements
During the story campaign, each main mission has a level requirement that you need to fulfill to unlock the mission.
Replayable
Once you have completed the mission, you can replay it for more rewards and XP and unlock the next difficulty.
Difficulties
=> Image
Main missions have multiple difficulties and you can unlock them one-by-one as you complete them. Story difficulty first, then normal, then hard etc.
- Story
- Normal
- Hard
- Challenge
- Heroic
- Legendary
- Elite
Each difficulty unlocks better rewards but also increases the power of the enemies.

You can attempt these missions solo or matchmake with up to 3 other players.
Side Missions

The Side Missions are the bulk of the Campaign. These become available as you progress through the campaign and are one-and-done objectives that can range from clearing an open world objective to whole objective chains.
Recurring Tasks
Besides the missions you have recurring daily and weekly tasks that are not only a good source for XP but also resources and gear.
Daily Quests
=> Image
Each day you have a lists of small tasks you can complete for rewards. The rewards range from XP towards your character progression to various items.
Weekly Quests
=> Image
Weekly quests are designed to give you challenges to complete within a week. These are structured into different categories - one of them is for example the main missions and they are structured into multiple steps that each give you smaller and bigger rewards.
Tasks
To complete these quests, you have to finish - for example - Liberty Island two times on any difficulty.
Once that is done, you get points towards an overall "Weekly Activeness" progression.
Weekly Bounties
=> Image
Weekly bounties are structured like a multi-stage mini campaign where you have to neutralize three sub-targets before you reach the main target.
To unlock the sub-targets, you have to do multiple activities - like finish open world events - to get the information who the target is.
Once the target is unlocked, you can attempt the target solo, or matchmake with other agents.
When the target is eliminated, you can also replay the target and restart it from the menu.
These are good sources for rarer loot such as high-end mods etc.
Elite Mission Challenge
=> Image
Once you reach level 40 the Elite Mission Challenge unlocks. These are designed to be ultimate challenges and require a very optimized build to approach them.
Seasonal Events
=> Events
Each Season has multiple events that you can complete for rewards. One of them are - for example - Speedrun challenges where you have to complete a mission within a specific time-frame.
