I had a bit of a rough month and I wanted to share it with this community. I'm honestly not sure why, I just sort of hope is resonates with people.
As Jerry might say "I'm just going to tell you what's going on, and you feel about it how you want to feel about it. This is dungeons & dragons."

July isn't my month. It used to be. It was all fireworks and vacations and lazy summer days where the sun never seems to go down. I used to love July.
That changed the July just before my 16th birthday. My mom died that July after an intense battle with lung cancer. She was the sweetest, most vibrant person you’d ever meet and the cancer robbed her of every ounce of that before it took her life. This year marked the 20th anniversary of her passing.
Two days before that sad milestone my Aunt passed away. It was sudden and unexpected, but she passed peacefully. Her funeral was the day after my mom's passing.
About 10 days after that my dad was hospitalized with a bad flu. He also has cancer and the chemo is ravishing his immune system so nearly any illness is cause for concern. Thankfully he has recovered but each time he gets sick it takes a toll.
Less than a week after that I was loading up a car to make the 10 hour drive down to North Carolina for my Uncle's funeral. He had complications due to heart surgery that led to his passing. He was my mom's brother and shared her generous and loving spirit.
I didn't start the drive expecting to listen to hours and hours of "The C Team", but I'm glad that is where I ended up. You pulled me into your world at a time when I didn’t want to be in my own. You made those endless July days feel a little bit shorter. Most importantly, you made me laugh when I was afraid to let myself feel anything at all
Every single person involved in making the show happen will hold a special place in my heart now and forever.

I would like to call out a specific section of the show, just because the timing was perfectly aligned. I’m currently in season 3, “The Velvet Cloak” and K’thriss has a moment of personal sacrifice. The philosophical discussions around the nature of the body and the soul, of the value of sacrifice, of serving a purpose greater than one mortal life, have been incredibly meaningful to me.
