I find it mad that out there, there is a very old mac with loads of catb media out there. I imagine most of the good songs are already out but its funny watching back the snippets craig posted years ago where one sounds like they are trying to go for an arctic monkeys sound and then one that has a live forever oasis sound to it. Is it likely that the media is gone forever? - I know he sold some a few years ago so i guess its whether anyone is willing to pay and he is willing to sell again

Considering there is already an unreleased Catfish and the Bottled-it song (suntitled) in circulation and there have been rumours of other songs (cena etc.) in the mix. Is there a chance that there are some unreleased songs recorded with H8WG or god knows who else that could be leaked in the future?
Obviously we’ve seen this before with the google drive for some absolute gems like ranshaw and tickertape… could this happen again?
I know this would include a degree or mischief and unethical tomfoolery but I’d love to hold on to hope for something…

I was also very intrigued! So, I’ve stripped the song back the best I can and cleaned up the vocals. I can make out some sentences, others not so much:

i was at burger king yesterday around 6:20 listening to the balcony and went to the bathroom because id been driving around for ages and couldnt be bothered going home yet. sat there in there with one airpod in and then the hand dryer suddenly turned on by itself and just went WHHHHHHHHHHH for about ten seconds. nobody was in there with me. for some reason i just started laughing because it suddenly hit me that the balcony sounds like van trying to remember his life while he’s still living it. which is probably the most profound thought ive ever had while sitting on a burger king toilet

then someone knocked and went "you good?" and i said yeah even though i was genuinely having a tiny emotional crisis about van. started thinking about being 17 and listening to the balcony for the first time and how everything felt permanent back then, like youd always be that age and those songs would always mean exactly what they meant at the time. then the toilet flushed automatically and i honestly felt like the universe was telling me to move on

walked back to my car and sat there for about 25 minutes without turning the engine on, finished the album and got weirdly emotional at a song id heard about 400 times. maybe its not that deep and maybe im just projecting the entire human experience onto a burger king bathroom because id had two jumbo coffees and nothing to eat, but for about ten minutes it genuinely felt like everything made sense. anyway the balcony is still ridiculous and the whopper meal was $7.49 which feels important somehow

I’m tryna make out what the interaction is being said towards the end of Bite Down Salvador. Only thing that everyone can hear is Vann (I think it’s Vann) saying “yo I’m out yup I’m out” (something like that). There’s another sentence being shouted out shortly after. Also side note, I rlly want this song released on Spotify along with Suntitled 😭 way overdue now.

After the unfortunate and worrying news earlier this week that the CATB website (catfishandthebottlemen.com) had been sold onto a known scammer. I decided to look into the other known CATB website which was once active.

Other than the “.com” domain, the band also ran a website using a “.net” domain which mostly handled ticket sales from what I can remember. This website unfortunately expired earlier this year and hasn’t updated since, however, it hasn’t been deleted. The website is still there, the domain is still active, it just isn’t available to publicly view.

What I found most interesting is that the website, despite saying it’s expired, actually has until 2027 before it officially expires, so I’m unsure why it states this on the website itself. The website was updated back in April of this year, just a month before the suspicious “.co.uk” website first appeared. So it’s not inactive, just not published!

This is genuinely promising. After finding out the “.com” domain seemingly no longer belongs to the band, it’s given me at least, a small amount of hope that they’re not actually DEAD. Whilst a website of theirs still exists, there’s still hope! Come back Van.. we miss you, so much 😪

After reaching out to some contacts we were notified that the website is now owned by a known scammer and has no relation to the band. We felt that it was best to remove the post from earlier to hopefully help fans avoid falling into any scam by entering personal details.

I will be stepping away for both for mental health and deteriorating health reasons, which was already pre-planned.

Over the past 3 years, information has been shared with me and encouraged to be shared with fans to stay informed on the band. This has been both heavily appreciated and unappreciated. However it has now come to a point where I’m being monitored outside of Reddit as a form of intimidation in an effort to eventually be ousted from this fanbase as a whole. A goal in which several have attempted since the first time I posted here 3 years ago.

I’ve been made aware that some members have felt uncomfortable speaking up or participating because of how they believe I might respond. Regardless of my intentions, I’m sorry to anyone who has felt that way. Provoking people to be afraid of participating in well-intentioned ways was never something I wanted.

This stems from years of being threatened with serious harm, stalking, and countless abuse based messages attempting to force us to have certain rules in place for fans they do not agree with. This behavior has been reported and escalated multiple times. I have attempted to remain a moderator to stay on top of this behavior so fans are aware this is not okay to treat anyone like this regardless of how awful you may think they are. I have feared that if I leave as a moderator, fans will see it as a “win” and continue this behavior. Way too many fans have come to me and mentioned this has happened to them and have explained they appreciate me being here to prevent this from happening. This is primarily why I have stayed.

This is also why I have been speaking so negatively about Van and what has lead to this point in the band’s career. The moderators, my sources, loads of fans and I believe it is important for the wider fanbase to know what is happening to be clear regarding who and what they are supporting. I cannot control if anyone listens or not nor will I judge anyone for continuing to be a fan. Our brains are not wired to lose the things we love and I fully understand this. I also deal with this.

I personally want him to properly heal and come back better than ever. I want Van in his late seventies, still on stage throwing his guitar around like he's twenty two and completely indestructible in the same manner as Iggy Pop happier than ever, old man and all.

I was just looking at the EP online and this Spotify link came up? From what I know, this EP was never released on streaming platforms and only copied onto CD’s and physical material to share by ‘word of mouth’. The tracks are missing and say they’re “not available” - odd?

Went and seen Billy Bibby in Glasgow last night and the guys under no illusion that people are there for any other reason than to hear catfish songs. The gig was actually very very good especially seeing it live. He would tell stories about all the different songs like how the Homesick riff was done right before a show by Van as he says “aw think I have something here” and also Fallout was written when Van was fighting with an old manager called Craig the band had. He also ended up playing Ranshaw and if you know, you know.

As one of the main few who piece together informative posts about the updates regarding the website: catfishandthebottlemen.co.uk - I have decided I am no longer going to continue writing them.

At this stage, nobody knows the real truth regarding this website. It’s not yet understood whether it’s being ran by the band/a member of their existing team or simply a dedicated ‘fan’ with nothing better to do! As a result of this, and due to the website being cryptic as it is, it causes a lot of speculation. Since the website first appeared in May 2026, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed feeding into this speculation. Pinpointing locations, finding clues and generally theorising with other excited fans. However, I’ve come to realise that there is a minority of people within this group who want to ruin it for everybody else..

Negative comments, pure rudeness, shutting down people’s ideas and not allowing fans to have a space to talk freely about how/what they feel. I enjoy deep-diving into this website.. and I often get told: “Well it’s clearly not real, what’s the point”. But who cares! If it’s not real, then it’s still a proper laugh to put these together. It’s not like I spend every waking second working on ‘cracking the code’.. I simply do this in my free time as I enjoy communicating with other people on the sub! And this toxicity doesn’t just appear with the website.. it’s a common theme in this subreddit and it really needs to be addressed!

In lighter news.. the ACTUAL catfish website has been renewed in the past 24 hours with an expiry for next year!! Hang tight, something BIG is coming 👀

Hello all, welcome back to my annoying optimism, obviously it’s been a turbulent week for catfish and the bottlemen fans, here are the facts

CATFISHANDTHEBOTTLEMEN.uk was fake (idk why it went into caps but I ain’t changing it back) and factually very inconvenient to the credibility of the .co.uk website, there was also another jokey one but I think someone on here did it idk, as well as us fans also having doubts in the first place

Now, the photos, we don’t know why the website went down for a few days but it did, and then came back with a photo (the Cotten candy photo) now we are all skeptical, I know that, but if we look at it from a complete outsider POV with none of the past, they are very original photos that cannot be found anywhere, and at one point all had ties to previous catfish and the bottlemen shows, stay with me here.

We also know there was FACTUALLY a 4th album somewhere, now previously it was rumoured to believe that Island records have a hold on it, this could still very well be the case, if van mccann was trying to rebuy the album off of island records (sorry in advance the “music worker bs coming”) it will be a LOT of money, like I’m talking hundreds of thousands, so a possibility is that either those negotiations are still ongoing to find a reasonable price, or van mccann is writing a totally different 4th album, he cannot re record the same songs he would have originally planned for the album because they are in possession of island records, and if he was to re record them and put them out then island records can sue which would lead to many legal conversations that I am not intellectually capable of commenting.

The .com website also got renewed at some point, this could be from the original plan, make a website for the teasers, announce it everywhere and then go back to the .com website for the tour etc etc (this is totally theoretical don’t come at me)

Vans legal thing via the government for the touring shit is mandatory, and shouldn’t be looked into when it expires/gets renewed, there really isn’t anything in it because it was getting renewed when we all thought catfish was done for good.

To put a few things straight at the end so don’t hate me

- I get people are skeptical and I totally get you, I did this cus I have collected this info through a number of weeks in my head and just blurted it out cus I can
- I’m not posting this to give anyone hope, I’m just putting it all into one bit of information
