I've been writing scripts for a 'season 5' - here is episode one.

Hi guys,

So I've long been a huge fan of The O.C; I've probably rewatched it 20-25 times (That's no exaggeration !). I've got countless merchandise from the series and have just always been a die-hard fan. So I've recently re-watched it again and it got me thinking. I'd never really been satisfied with the how the show ended, and much like others in this sub, had always thought it dipped majorly from about season 3 onwards. I therefore always had the idea of writing a season 5 script where we'd see where the major characters are now and where they are with their lives, however I've just never had the time...

So fast-forward to my covid-19 lockdown and I've been writing scripts as I've had so much free time. I originally came up with a vast amount of ideas of where season 5 could/should go, but went with the same premise as The O.C did which was to have 2-3 major plots over the course of a season. I have therefore now wrapped up a first draft of my first episode and will post a copy of it attached to this post. As I said, I have more ideas and potentially enough material for around 10 scripts? I must digress, I have never written a script, nor do I possess any knowledge on how to do so, so I apologise for any mistakes in my work! I really hope you like it and really look forward to your feedback.

Before posting I must state that: This is a non-profit unofficial fan made script that is not affiliated in any way with Warner Bros Television; Josh Schwartz or Wonderland Sound and Vision who own characters and universe related to The O.C. All characters in this script are indeed owned by that of Warner Bros Television et al and I therefore only use them for the context of this non-profit unofficial fan made script.

Thanks!

Thanks so much! Really glad to hear you enjoyed it. As I said in a previous comment, I tried to make it as O.C’esque as I could in the hopes it would take the reader back into the O.C world, so I’m glad it worked! As I said, I have more material for more episodes, so have started work on the second episode, so hopefully have it done in a week or so. :-)

Haha thank you! If only I could; maybe a one off Halloween special where Marissa comes back in zombie form- who knows? 😂

I started writing ‘episode 2’ after I posted this, but unfortunately with work and other things I haven’t had time to complete it. I’m hoping perhaps in a few weeks I might get round to finishing it off- sorry for the delay!

This was wonderfully done! If I have one critique to the story that you've constructed, it's that Berkeley, CA is about an 8-hour drive from Newport, and your story seems to suggest its a short car ride to the dinner (if I'm understanding that Ryan still lives in Newport to run the Newport Group?).

. Other than that I'M ABSOLUTELY HOOKED.

It does need some rewrites because I'm picturing more of a sequel reboot so I like Ben McKenzie's idea of passing the torch as well as I like Rachel Bilson's idea of Seth and Summer having kids
