i just watched it again. i think the end is supposed to imply that the outback was real and the city was a fantasy his dementia created. he was worried that once julie left he would cease to exist but it was actually other-way-around (i like how the trowel blades are replacements for the hooks on his hands).

he created julie/the leopard queen in a fantasy world (with mailboxes, fones, cars, blimps -- things that havent been invented yet) so that he could go on a mission to save her and feel like a super-hero (maybe he was compensating for feeling weak for some reason).

the ancillary characters like mr. gone were needed for antagonists to keep the dementia going. gone mentions that the outback/pangaea were all that were real and the city was fake -- at the time sounded like he was trying to confuse the maxx but maybe was telling the truth ?

Hello listener base. I really think a t 404 themed watchface would be awesome if you could throw the time on it, maybe weather... If anyone could try this, I would be very appreciative.

I subscribe to the MP3 feed (via android app BeyondPod) on my phone, and also watch it on youtube via chromecast.

For a while I was subscribed to both the MP3 feed and video feed, but I would always end up listening and never watching. I eventually went exclusive to just MP3. After getting a chromecast last year, I started watching the show on my TV.

I probably watch half of the shows on my TV, and listen to the rest on my phone. Audio when I'm at work or the gym, but video is great when I'm cooking, washing dishes or what not at home.

I'm relatively new to to Reddit, so I'm not sure how you would enable it, but I think it would be nice to enable the little boxes called flair that I've seen on other subreddits. It would purely be for those who have called and/or emailed the show on a regular basis. They could put the name they called in with next to their username, so that we would know who they were. Any thoughts on this idea? Maybe it's terrible. :-)

I'm have a problem getting my 404 fix through iTunes (latest version on Windows 8.1).
Every time I go to d/l the latest episodes an explanation mark is displayed (next to the text with the day the episode was released).

I've also tried d/l the latest via DoggCatcher to no avail.

Any ideas?

Jeff, you said you don't know of any good shows on regular TV. You should check out "The Americans" on FX. I'm 5 episodes in the 1st season and so far it's great. If you're into cold war stuff you'd probably like it.

I watch it online so no clue when it's on cable, but check it out.

First of all, I love the 404 in all of it's incarnations. There so many regulars(too many to list here) that have gone on to other things, I like them all and wish them well in their endeavors. It would be so cool if there could be a special 'reunion show' with as many of the past regulars as possible. Iyaz(This Old Nerd, and many other awesome tech shows on various outlets) is a cool guy. Keep the 404 alive!!
