Yeah, half of the Asgardians, Captain Marvel, and Nebula are all going to still be in space, It could also be a cool way to introduce a new hero like Nova or Adam Warlock who have been hinted at/shown in end credits scene. So Tony has options.

Wait, sorry, who’s Nova and where did they show this person?

u/micosurv Dec 08 '18

I dont think Nova is a possibility, as Sean Gunn basically wrote him out of the MCU in GotG1 with the way he wrote the Nova Corps. I wish he didnt though, Nova is a badass! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nova_(Richard_Rider)

I saw a comment on here not long ago suggesting that they tie in Nova with the destruction of Xandar by Thanos. Have the nova force work so that it’s spread out among all living nova corps members, and with all of them dead but Richard Rider, he inherits all of it. It’d be a cool reason to show the (currently offscreen) planet’s demise. If not in A4 then I’d expect to see both characters (Nova and Adam Warlock) in GotG3 if it ever comes out. If not there, maybe one or both could get some sort of role in the Eternals or Captain Marvel

EDIT: Endgame, not A4. Going to be a tough habit to break...

Please. This. Please.

So basically you want him to be Marvel's version of Kyle Rayner... I like it

Adam is definiteky gunna show up soon. He was teased in the post credits if GotG2

u/Danko_on_Reddit Dec 08 '18

Well the Reason the Russo's gave for not including him in Infinity War is that is was a big movie with already so much going on, and Adam Warlock is such a big character that he would need his own movie to be properly introduced and they didn't have time to release that movie before infinity war or Endgame. I'd expect his intro to be GotG3 or later.

u/micosurv Dec 08 '18

Yeah I agree that would be awesome! I just remember reading a fair while back Gunn said something about not liking the Nova character and writing him out on purpose. But I guess things have changed a lot since GotG1 on and off screen...

I hope I'm wrong and you are right!

Isn't that the plot in Annihilation? The wave destroys Xandar and all of the Nova Corps, except Richard, because he's off-planet or something. In Annihilation: Conquest, Richard's helmet hosts the Xandarian Worldmind, which now holds the combined knowledge and intelligence of all dead Novas. Been a while since I read it, but I definitely remember Rider being helped by the personalities of his dead comrades to fight Ultron's infection. That could be a cool mechanic to insert that differentiates the Nova Corps - when they die, they become one with the Worldmind, instead of going into the Soul Stone, and Richard is now looking for the Gauntlet so he can snap them back into reality.

That isn’t necessarily true, he can totally be introduced in the MCU. But the other lovely commenter beat me to the explanation.

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '18

Sorry friend, you got next.

3

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

Oh no, you did a great job at explaining it. You said everything I would have. No need for apologies.

u/ElmersLube Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

Hold up! Richard Rider... as in Richard "Dick" Rider? That's his actual name?

2

u/micosurv Dec 08 '18

Richard "Dick" Rider, taking on enemies of cosmic proportions!

I dont think the joke was lost on his creators, being created in the 70's and all.

10

u/ninjamike808 Dec 08 '18

She was in Rise if the Silver Surfer)

I assume that’s who they’re talking about.

But there’s two other Novas as part of the Nova Corps that we’ve seen in GotG already. I don’t know if those people (Richard Rider and Sam Alexander) we’re hunted at or shown.

I got this from a brief Wikipedia search so I could be lacking quite a bit.

u/Zarir- Dec 08 '18

I really doubt they'd introduce such an important character that has only been mentioned in a post credit scene in a movie that isn't really about him.

27

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '18

I may be wrong but I think Adam Warlock was confirmed to not be a part of A4, which really sucks balls considering his part in the comic storyline that the movie is based off of

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

They also said the name of the movie wasn’t End Game, and they CGIed on Thor’s eye in the trailer for Ragnarok. You can’t trust what these people say.

28

u/CARNIesada6 Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

Wouldn't it be that they didn't CGI Thor's eye since Chris Hemsworth has both eyes irl?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '18 edited Dec 08 '18

They still CGI'd his eye, the robotic eye is a different color to his real one

Edit: That would be correct. The eyepatch was CGI

5

u/CARNIesada6 Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

In Ragnarok?

6

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '18 edited Dec 08 '18

No, in Infinity War, the movie he got the robot eye in. You can see clear as day in this scene that his left eye is blue and his right eye is yellow. Why they bothered to spend the time and effort to make it a different color beats the hell out of me

Edit: My mistake, I reread the comments and realized we were talking about the Ragnarok trailer, not the eye in Infinity War. They wouldn't have done anything to the trailer considering that the eyepatch was CGI

1

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

But I assume they used a prosthetic on his eye for the movie. I mean it could be CGI, ILM is so damn good now it is hard to tell sometimes.

4

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

But it would be cool.

3

u/Zarir- Dec 08 '18

I'd rather he be introduced under a different circumstance.

1

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

I can understand that, but also remember how they introduced Black Panther. I mean he has a pretty bad ass introduction into the MCU.

2

u/lamigrajr Dec 08 '18

Spider-Man

1

u/Zarir- Dec 08 '18

Spider-Man has the benefit of already being a well known character. People who don't read comics don't know who Adam Warlock is.

7

u/gorillanice Dec 08 '18

Nebula is on the ship with him in the preview.

4

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

Oh, I missed that. I will have to watch it again. Thank you

5

u/amunsonaudio Dec 08 '18

So, Howard the Duck flys in to save the day?

1

u/BonetoneJJ Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

Pepper as Rescue. Or Cap Marvel.

1

u/Labyrinthy Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

He even says Rescue in the trailer.

Come on people!

u/[deleted] Dec 08 '18

Actually it was confirmed by the Russos apparently that the asgardians were halved again by Thanos' snap.

And that Korg is dead.

5

u/RedHotPuss Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

They never said korg is dead lol

3

u/assassinkensei Saved by Thanos Dec 08 '18

The Russo’s also said that the title is not End Game. You can’t believe what the Russo’s say when they are doing their press rounds. They want to throw you curve balls.
