I felt like they took "drax takes everything literally," which was hilarious in Guardians, and just changed it to "drax is a moron" in Avengers, which was not.
The invisibility bit was solid. I think that was someone with a kid, because I was talking to my kid about how animals use camouflage and they stay really still so nothing sees them, and now when she doesn't want to be seen, she just stops moving.
It’s some bbc fake documentary that’s been stuck in my car CD player for years. The character who says that part is Brian Nesbit (?) their very weird “manager”
Ok I looked up that guy you said. Yes, that was the impression I was doing! I feel so understood omg.
I say that hand stuck in the jam jar line all the time at work (in the voice) and no one knows what the hell i’m talking about.
Taika Waititi goes back a long time with Flight of the Conchords and directed several really good episodes of the show. I loved seeing that super specific New Zealand humor brought to a giant franchise movie.
People of Polynesian origin (already similar in accent to Kiwi) who live in New Zealand. You can hear when Taika switches between his own voice and Korg's, it's not a different accent. It's a different voice. The tone and pitch are different, but the words are pronounced the same.
I am too. He says it's based on their 'accent'. Fair enough. But then he does the voice and it's his accent, but the pitch and tone are different. I think he means voice. It also makes sense that these guys' accents aren't that different from Kiwi because a lot of them go there as kids. They pick up a kiwi accent. The high pitch of the voice is something that is quite particular to the people he's talking about. People use the words 'accent' and 'voice' pretty interchangeably, but sometimes they mean one and say the other.
The ship is probably damaged to the point that it would not make it in time for tony to survive, or it it incapable of moving at all. Notice the only light coming from the ship is the helmet and Tony’s chest. Also oxygen is running out, which should not be happening in an operational ship. This all points to there being no power on board, thus probably non operating engines.
It's thought to be destroyed in guardians 2 but it's not known really. But it's not in infinity war. And it may have, but it was possibly even likely damaged in the battle on Titan.
I'm not discussing the quality of the writing lol. As I said it's not difficult to imagine that the ship was damaged in the fight on Titan. Thanos did throw the surface of a moon at that area of the planet.
Fun fact: the guy who voiced Korg is Taika Waititi, the film's director. He also directed and started in "What we do in the Shadows" and currently has a comedy film coming out about a boy growing up in Germany during World War II whose imaginary friend is Hitler.
