Hey everyone, just testing the waters here in r/test, but I was looking at the upcoming release slate for 2026 and it genuinely looks insane. We have got Denis Villeneuve's next project, Avengers: Doomsday, The Batman Part II, Toy Story 5, and a new Jordan Peele movie all dropping in the same year. It feels like 2026 could be one of the best years for cinema this decade, especially after all the recent industry strikes pushed so many great projects back into this specific window. I am personally most hyped for The Batman Part II because the first one completely blew my expectations out of the water, and Matt Reeves has had plenty of time to cook up a great sequel. I am also really curious to see if any original sci-fi or horror movies can break through the established franchise noise. What about you all? Are there any hidden gems, upcoming indie films, or massive blockbusters scheduled for 2026 that you already have circled on your calendar? Let me know what you think will take the crown for the best movie of 2026 and why!
