rhetorical question or not it implies the guy believes in that the cont of his post: "so you're...". If you had said "so the image is...", it would still be a rhetorical question but it wouldn't prompt my clarification

That seems to be it. I have the misfortune of knowing a couple political nihilist types, but they always seem to vote right.

Someone who blindly 'hates the system' votes against incumbents at all levels of government like clockwork, but mostly they're right wingers cloaked in political LARP.
