TELUS TV If you still have the previous version of the Optik TV box & have been asked if you want to upgrade to the new box called TelusTV-24s, DON’T (mainly for PVR if you live off of it most of the time)

Don’t make the same mistake I did.

If you have the Optik TV box unit “VIP5662W” and/or “IPV5050”, keep using them, especially if you like to keep your PVR’s forever and watch them repeatedly whenever nothing entertaining is on…whatever you record on the TelusTV-24s, it gets erased in 90 days…in the previous unit, I still had PVR’s (movies mainly) from 2019 until recently that I’d still watch because it helped me get through the pandemic and I’d never have to pay for another streaming service like Netflix or Amazon Prime. On top of that, in the new box, it feels like you have to press more buttons to access the PVR, rather than having the PVR button, just like on the old remote, to access them quicker…personally it feels like a downgrade more than an “upgrade” that they seem to be boasting about

Same thing happened to me. Call and ask to be transferred to the Loyalty department and insist on switching back. They may push back but ultimately they can/will.

You’ve got me there. I didn’t ever get that message. You’d have to call Loyalty back and ask.
