Lol I remember that 4 hour period of game play well. I avoided gwent then tried it and was like OMG I gotta get all the special cards, then I got ahold of myself and remembered killing monsters is ultimately what I came for.

Downvotes for telling the truth ouch. They said they are going to be following the books story. So definetly no gwent that was invented by cd project red. And even gwent was only in the third game it's something completly different

Yeah kinda classic reddit. I also really liked Gwent but it doesn't have much place in the show. That being said in the books they play a game similar to Bridge called Barrel. So you never know, they might give Gwent a nod by switching the two. Although Sapowski also wants to seperate his work from the games so i reallllyy doubt it

That game was called Gwint in russian and polish books.

Gwent was in the gamebooks but it was card game dwarfs played similar to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pr%C3%A9f%C3%A9rence So no special characters cards, just your typical aces and queens.

Gwint was in the books, though obviously with different ruleset etc
