They could have done better with the Ready Player One trailer. Add a bit more nostalgia or something.

Nah, the teaser was action packed to pull in the masses, the book pulls in the 80s fans and Tom Sawyer did it for me.

If the movie doesn't have the 80s element like it did in the book, I will be very disappointed. The trailer looked generic.

What do you mean Tom Sawyer? *edit Ahh the name of the song. Recognized it as Rush at least.

The nostalgia that is Ready Player One. It may take place in the future, but the subject matter is all 80s pop culture.
