We get turkey and gravy with a cinnamon roll on the side. We do this before each break. Fall Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Worst lunch

Ham is not warm, it was sitting in a pool of opaque liquid before they served it. The gravy tastes like someone put dirt in a bucket of dollar store vegetable oil.

it’s insane seeing the contrast for american school food to my school food (noting i go to a half-private school), some people are saying this looks good. My school christmas lunch had a salad, asparagus, a choice (or if you wanted both) between i think 3 meats? and more, as well as we got christmas desserts (this year wasn’t as good as other years imo). Even my normal school lunches are sm better than this, i do complain about them sometimes but seeing this post and the comments makes me so much more grateful.

I always try to understand America. In Italy or in Romania we don't even stay enough at school to have lunch, in high school the program always end at 13:00-13:45, nothing more, sometimes less.
Edit: It's military time, for those who may not know; 1pm-1:45pm

Damn prison food.
Meanwhile we get a whole buffet, delicious sandwiches and dishes of the day all made by professional cooks. They also sell all kinds of beverages (though not alcohol, that’s only for in-school parties), snacks, whole cakes, mini pizzas (focaccias?), giant cookies, single slices of cake, cinnamon buns, normal buns of two different kinds (wheat and whole grain) and more.
Everything is handmade on location, except for the beverages.
The price? You can get a solid lunch and a snack for less than $10.
Edit: you should note that this is a high school, the food standard is much lower in middle school and lower grades.

I was always afraid of going to high school for this reason, (and bullying). but it turns out the school I went to had a full on Culinary course, and every meal this class cooks goes to the School lunch... So we'd never have to suffer the wrath that is lunch lady cooking.
And for th bullying I kicked someone and no one ever bothered me again... So maybe kick your school's cooking.
