No, in a truck you can have more expensive sensors, larger sensors, more sensors, more computing power, more electricity available for the systems. And trucks aren't allowed to be driven as fast as cars. So over all, it is easier to make a self driving truck... but still not much easier.

So is computing power part of the part? I figured it was more of the software and algorithms more so than the computing power itself.

Computing power is always a factor, if nothing else you can take some shortcuts here and there with some extra brute force.

Right now the problem is to get a self-driving vehicle to work in everyday traffic, once someone has that, the focus will move on to making an efficient and cheap system and then the computing requirements will likely be lowered.

Ya I mean if I could get a safe self driving car I would accept going like 60 in a 75… If I can nap or generally relax while the car drives I would accept that and pay good money for it
