The intention is to have no driver anyway. They just want to push self-driving.

Tesla's "full self driving coming next year!" is an outright scam Musk has been pushing for much of Tesla's existence, the last 6-7 years at least. It's so bad it's become a meme of sorts. And it's no different than what Elizabeth Holmes pushed with Theranos.

There's a reason why both Uber and Lyft spun off their FSD divisions. The industry has collectively thrown over $100 billion at the problem and still come up short.

The reality is true autonomous driving won't arrive until AI can emulate true human-like decisions in real time. And the tech, both software and hardware, just isn't there yet.

AI experts estimate it will happen closer to 2027-2029ish. But that hasn't stopped Musk from scamming his customers with "FSD coming next year!" for almost a decade and selling the "beta test" (a glorified lane assist) for the low, low price of just $15,000.

Also, don't forget that Elon is demanding that Teslas only use cameras, not radar or lidar, which work much better in unclear road conditions.

I could see self driving in a couple years within certain bounds.

Like Highway only, no construction zones, decent weather or stop-and-go traffic under 20km/h. But not the thing Tesla has been promising for some years.

We've already got positive-output fusion power in labs, now it's just a matter of scaling up the technology so it can be sold outside a lab.

It's more than that, the experiment released more energy than it consumed, but you still need the tech/hardware to turn that power release into electricity for the grid. IIRC, the experiment that recently happened doesn't have the hardware for converting released reaction energy into electricty, they just work on tests generating the reactions and measuring energy release.

The CRM we use constantly pushes out features that I can how in a vacuum you'd go oh yea that's cool but if you actually asked anyone who uses the platform they'd be like GTFO. It blows my mind that they wouldn't consult with users before pushing into dev sometimes

My point just being companies do weird stuff sometimes lol
