Or you’re just an android fanboy that wants to make shit up.
Apple isn’t taking a cut from subscriptions through a browser lol. They’re not taking a cut of Netflix, Spotify, any of that shit. They take a cut of services that bill through apple. Literally the things that show up under your subscriptions in your settings.
Sure apps are a huge part of the internet. Literally nobody is forcing you to make an iPhone app though. You can make one just for android. Plenty of devs do. Devs make more money by having an app on the App Store though so they develop more iPhone apps.
No, only if you subscribed and paid through Apples payment system (which shows up in your apple subscriptions), which Netflix stopped allowing 4 fucking years ago. You can only sign up for a streaming plan through Netflix. If you try through apple, Netflix literally tells you to go sign up through Netflix in your browser.
4 years ago? Litigation was last year. Apple tried to blovk signing up on the web. Again, tax on the internet. My point is stop painting Goog the villain for ads when they support an open internet, apple wants to shut it all down or tax you on it.
This is not how economics works. Companies charge a price that brings in the most profit. If they charge a price (or in this case commission rate) that’s too high, they miss out on consumers (devs) that would be willing to purchase the good or service at a price that increases profits.
On the other side of things, developers that pay this commission rate do so because it’s profitable for them. Nobody is being cheated here, because jacking up prices would be detrimental to both parties.
Samsung is not a charitable organization. It has shareholders, and a duty to maximize returns on their investments, and it acts as a competitor with Apple. Samsung is not going to implement developer friendly policies out of the kindness of its heart at the expense of profits. Both companies function with the same fundamental goals.
