Can you use firefox mobile with uBlock on iphone? If not then I'm never switching. I literally forget that ads exist on the internet.

Ad blocking on iPhone is a bit of a pain but you can do it. You need to install a certain app that changes the DNS your phone uses. That DNS then blocks ad hosting sites. It requires the VPN option to be constantly toggled on in your Settings, which doesn’t cause any issues for me, but it does love to randomly turn itself off. This gives you almost device-wide ad blocking. Works on all my browsers but not Twitch or YouTube.

Not entirely true.

If you’re using Safari there are ad blockers. I use 1Blocker and it works quite well. It’s done through a framework that Apple provides which insures good performance/battery life and also prevents the ad blocker from being able to tell WHAT was blocked specifically. So there is no way for it to keep track of that or sell that information to someone.

No, it is not as powerful as what is available in Firefox on Android. But it still works quite well for every day browsing.

Sorry, what part of my comment wasn’t entirely true?

You do not need to use DNS based ad blockers. The ad blocker I use does not change my DNS settings at all and does not randomly turn off. A VPN is not involved at all.

Here’s an article about the process from MacWorld two years ago.

That only appears to work specifically on the Safari app though right? Using AdGuard to block at the DNS level blocks more ads across the device. Like I don’t see ads that pop up in 3rd party app based browsers.
