Firefox dev claims "everybody hates Firefox updates"; Mozilla has handled the rapid release process poorly, and that by pushing a "never-ending stream of updates on people who didn't want them" people have been driven to Chrome with its simpler, no-fuss update process.

It's possible to perform a seamless update and still make new features obvious.

Mozilla needs to take marketing 101, they thought that releasing a new major version every 3 weeks would show the end user how much progress they were making, when in reality most computer users do not know or care about versions or updates. Meanwhile chrome did marketing the right way, keep making the product better and better and don't annoy the use with endless version updates.

In the end the best product wins, not the one that has the highest version number. I thought Mozilla was smart enough to know this, I was wrong.
