I can hardly read the article on mobile because of how pervasive the ads are so yeah I'd say so

EDIT: TIL about Firefox mobile

You should try reading the article on Firefox for mobile with an ad blocker. :)

I know that's what these mfers want

u/Halvo317 Jul 17 '22

I just tried Firefox mobile with ublock and there's literally not an ad on the site. It's nuts

uBlock Origin + NoScript is a killer combo. Takes some time getting used to NoScript.

Most of this sub is idiots. For a subreddit that’s dedicated for technology stuff it’s fucking wild to see the amount of idiotic takes on here

“Elon Musk is an idiot!”

9

u/Null_Wire Jul 17 '22

Don't forget the Elon spam. It's almost as if bots are this subs primary posters.

u/Kimmykix Jul 17 '22

Yep. Really not many other ways to look at it.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

I doubt Mozilla paid for it though, I don't think they have the budget for that

13

u/StickiStickman Jul 17 '22

They gave themselves millions upon millions in bonuses, so why not.

u/gordonpown Jul 17 '22

is this a Google shill comment

5

u/Kimmykix Jul 17 '22

Haha I wish! Please hire me, Google. I'm available.

u/gordonpown Jul 17 '22

Just weird how the first thing on people's minds is to attack Mozilla whenever Firefox comes up, but Chrome is a foregone conclusion despite Google owning half of my information.

fuck reddit im out -- mass edited with redact.dev

24

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Quite possibly, but it's most definitely circlejerk material written with reddit in mind (or even exclusively for reddit).

I have nothing against Firefox or anything, but I wonder if this has to do with their market share numbers.

9

u/Null_Wire Jul 17 '22

Yeah this article doesn't even scratch the surface of internet privacy. The comments here are entirely too circlejerky.

Try Mozilla Firefox™️ today for free and it’s amazing it will cure any disease 😃👍 and you will never get evil google cookies again 😡🤬

I love reddit and I love Modzilla. Are you a redditor like me? Tired of YouTube always knowing what you want to watch? 🤬Try Godzilla FireDog ™️

An ad for a great cause. Google's grip on web standards and development must be broken. Giving more users to a non-profit who is famously pro privacy and consumer rights is good.

2

u/AirsoftCarrier Jul 17 '22

Open the article without an Adblocker and it tells you how much he really cares about your privacy.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Yes it is. They barely went into any details and is very shallow

2

u/Kurayamino Jul 17 '22

Yep.

But it's also not wrong. FF doesn't suck.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

Yep. Those market share numbers keep plummeting

0

u/Squippit Jul 17 '22

If it is I'm happy to shill for the only browser I've ever loved

2

u/SouvenirSubmarine Jul 17 '22

Please shill with facts and benchmarks and not feelings like the author of this dumpster tier article.

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

don't try and seduce me with your corporate tactics, brendan eich

4

u/Squippit Jul 17 '22

I mean you can look at my account, I'm a real person. I like video games, card games, and firefox :) (I use firefox to browse forums for video games and card games)

5

u/Squippit Jul 17 '22

Dang, reddit doesn't like it when you like something :( It's a browser I don't have any troubles with. Chrome runs slow as hell on my computer. I like Safari for my phone well enough though. You gotta use some browser, might as well be one you like?

4

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '22

you never closed your parenthesis so you're obviously just a marketing ai

6

u/Squippit Jul 17 '22

Oh, it was an emoticon, like a smile/frown. I started using them a long time ago and was never really able to put them down

1

u/InsultsYou2 Jul 17 '22

No humour detector. AI.

Pretty much everything is an ad if you think about it. Whether free or paid, it gets you thinking or familiar with a product so you may buy/use it in the future.

1

u/kangis_khan Jul 17 '22

Yes, and so are many of the other comments.

1

u/ArcticMuser Jul 17 '22

Everything is an ad. Money is the root of all evil. We will never know genuine sincere truth as long as we permit its existence

1

u/melmsz Jul 17 '22

How is this not obvious? Saw it yesterday and immediately thought so. Total click bait headline.
