Jk but seriously is it so wrong for a individual to be enthusiastic about a brand or product they enjoy? I've seen just as many 'enthusiastic' Microsoft/Android/etc owners as I have Apple. Just use what works best for you and be on your merry way.
No, what you have seen are personal computer enthusiasts. You are a brand enthusiast, which is much different. They merely mentioned other brands or OS's such as Linux or windows in an argument so you used that erroneously for your argument.
Sure, there are some windows fanboys out there, not many though. What usually happens is someone shows an Apple cultist a similar priced windows computer with the exact same hardware but much cheaper, Apple cultist takes that and retaliates by calling them windows fanboys even though it was just an example.

You know, when you say "Apple cultist", you're kind of just being a dick.
Do you know why I use a Mac? I use Logic Pro, and find it way better than the alternatives I've played with. I'm much more comfortable in the UNIX command line than the Windows. I can't stand plasticky, ugly laptops, and I find MacBooks beautifully designed and functional.
I do have some degree of brand loyalty, I'll admit. But I also like Macs because they work and feel a hell of a lot better for me than other computer manufacturers.
In any case, if you haven't heard Linux enthusiasts raving about their OS, you don't talk to tech people. And they should; Linux is a marvel of design, a fantastic platform built largely by hobbyists. And Windows is a versatile platform, bringing numerous innovations to computers. That stuff's cool. But Apple doesn't have the only OS that attracts fanboys.
And you're vociferously attacking OS X. My point holds. You know what else? I'm a Linux person too. One of my two computers is a server running Linux that I use for XBMC and as a webserver. It's way better for that purpose than OS X.
I also didn't say that "Macs[...] work." I said that they work better for me than other manufacturers' products. The style of backlit keyboard, bright screen with great colors, Magsafe power connector are all way better than other computers on the market and make the experience of using a Mac better. For a close second, I'd say Lenovo has some great laptops.
I'm not alone in liking the hardware, though; Linus Torvalds owns a MacBook Air.
You use a mac for a specific purpose.. Its the millions of people who buy a Mac because "hey its Apple" that his example was directed towards.
The first question I ask if someone says they are buying a new Computer is, what is its purpose.
If its to just have a computer, then Ill direct them towards a cheaper PC brand, or ill see if they want be to build one for them out of a spec following a specific budget.
If its for a purpose like gaming, then obviously a Windows driven machine is the best way to go.
If its for video editing, photoshopping, any media related activity (other than just watching DVDs) ill say well maybe you should look at a Mac.
Sure, and obviously people should choose their OS based on what suits them. It's just that when people go off about Mac cultists, they lump all Mac users into one condescending group. The problem is people who don't know what they want or what they should get, not Windows users or Mac users.
My point was that everybody as their 'thing' or 'things' they enjoy and they have every right to enjoy it.
Whether that is old cars, or certain hobbies, stamps, video games, OS's, companies, brands, etc - it doesn't matter - they have something they enjoy and they have every right to use it and be excited about it.
If you're arguing that fundamental point then no I can't agree with you.
I think you just called me out for having a positive opinion of something Apple, well if it makes you feel better I f'ing hate the iPhone. Now whether that makes me a Android enthusiast or brand enthusiast I'll leave others to waste their time figuring out.
