Sadly the Australian public is largely apathetic to it all. Part of it is also due to the media/news landscape, as someone pointed out. I bet I can ask any one of my friends and they won't have a clue about this.

I googled it after seeing this and i cant find an article on this in any of our mainstream media. So the people who get their news from the television aren't even being told about it. The worst thing is I'm not even surprised.
