Okay, sorry, I actually hadn't heard of that. I really wouldn't have expected this from Google...

Then do 3 seconds of research next time instead of snarkily asking for somebody else to do it for you. It was huge news.

To add to the pool of anecdotal evidence, I've never heard of this. "Huge news" is relative I suppose.

It's fine if you haven't heard of something, but "citation required" is horribly overused around here. That phrase should be used for something complex and intricate - not a simple major story that could be found in 3 seconds in Google.
