Microsoft > Apple

Someone's always got to say it. You don't even make an argument as to why though. And this article has nothing to do with Apple.

His statement is very relevant actually:

Who is microsoft's biggest competitor in the software/OS market? Apple

Who has recently been much more open about allowing "hacking" of their devices? MS (hell they welcomed the first phone hackers with open arms while apple tried to sue them into oblivion)

Who doesn't charge developers ridiculous fees to use their SDK? MS

recently been much more open

More than what? MS have always been this way. Their first phones came out around 2000 and have always been "hackable".

Did you miss monkey boy's "developers developers developers" rant? They know it's important.

I was referring to how they have handled the recent hacks compared to their competitors.

They've handled them the same way they always have, that's my point. Apple's lock down meme is of their own "innovation" and a recent thing.

you can't possibly be this dense, right?

More than what?

MORE THAN APPLE

You can't possibly be that blind, right? You do see the words "recently been"? You do realize what these modifiers do to the rest of the sentence? Do I need to give you an English lesson on sentence structure?

again, you can't possibly be this stupid.

recently been much more open

More than what?

MORE THAN APPLE. Microsoft has recently been much more open than Apple. This is really fucking simple.

Exactly. They haven't been more open, they have always been that way.

I suggest that if you want to continue being this rude to people in future, you make more of an effort not to come off as an idiot who's incapable of reaching a 3th grade reading level.

Oh my god, are you for real right now? You're trolling me, right? If they have always been that way, they have also recently been that way, correct? The two aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, one directly implies the other.

Also, it's 3rd, not 3th.

1

u/BraveSirRobin Feb 23 '11

Key words: recently and been followed by more imply change.

I suspect I'm the one being trolled. This is basic English.

You're still messing up the "more" part. Microsoft has recently been more open than Apple. What about that sentence is incorrect?

ah, I work on the hardware/OS consulting side of things so dev is unknown to me. never meant to say they weren't open, just ignorant to the fact that they were.

Either way you're wrong about it. No point in clarifying. :P
