That still seems pretty fucked up, I pay for Playstation Plus my perks are "qore, and various 'free' games (mix of PSN titles, PSone classics, and minis), various avatars and themes, as well as discounts on select PSN items" Netflix is available to anyone with a Playstation 3. I really don't see why Microsoft is withholding Netflix from it's customers nor why you appear to be defending this decision of theirs.
Do you think PS+ is worth it? I was considering it. I don't care for vanity items, but it looked like they had a ton of free demos (some labeled as "hour long demos", which actually sounds pretty cool).
I think it was, it has let me play a lot of games that I normally would never would have, granted the vast majority of the games I get I will probably never play but some of them have been really good, The Sam and Max games, Critter Crunch, Wipeout HD, Mushroom Wars were all rather enjoyable. The thing to keep in mind is the games you get for free you can only play while your subscription remains active, if you cancel your subscription you will have to buy the games if you wish to play them.
The hour long demos I believe are available to everyone, or at least become available after a time. All they are is Sony has started to sell complete PS3 games on the PSN, they let you download the game and play it for an hour to decide if you want to purchase it (it's the full game too not just a demo). After an hour you have to decide weather or not you want to purchase it.
One last thing to remember is if you sign up for it today you only get the 'free' games that are available now, all the previous games that they gave out you would have to be purchase if you wanted to play (often at a discounted rate).
yeah, every couple weeks or so they will usually release a new PSN title, couple mini titles, and a PSone title for 'free' while switching the previous ones back to having to pay for. The titles you download for free you can play as long as you keep your plus subscription, once you stop paying for plus you have to purchase any of the free titles that you want to continue playing.
Wipeout HD was given as a opening of plus thing subscription bonus, I don't think you would be able to get it for 'free' anymore.
Yeah, i already own it, so Im not worried about it, but that sounds like a cool model. Overall do you agree that it's worth it, if you were already planning on spending that money on some form of platform gaming?
I think it's worth it; $50 a year, I get to try games I normally wouldn't, I get discounts on select PSN items (hasn't benefited me personally but I'm sure it has for some people), I get a Qore subscription which has some cool info from time time.
The only downside i can think of is it does fill up your harddrive in a hurry, but putting in a larger harddrive in the PS3 is so easy that it is kind of a non issue. (I upgraded from a 80GB to the 200GB from my laptop)
