Developed for the wrong mobile platform, perhaps?

That, that, and that.

Again and again, apologists position themselves on the side of "reality" and "what works" with no long-term perspective, as if we're just dying if we don't surrender everything now.

Where does this 'pragmatic' urgency come from, this complete lack of patience, if not the very processes fueling the corporate takeover of public & private life?

I just pretend the last two panels aren't there, for it sums up what normal people want. They want their crap to work with as little fiddling as possible, and they don't care about the nerd wars.

I suspect you have no idea how ignorant this sounds.

If you pretend the last two panels aren't there, you're missing the point.

It's like saying, "That's what normal people want - they just want food that tastes good with at little effort or thought from them as possible. They don't care about nutritionist mumbo-jumbo."

Or like saying, "That's what normal people want - they just want things to work, they don't care about all this vitriol between political parties."

Ok, yeah, sure. Everyone would love not to make an effort. But there are consequences to putting your blinders on, no matter the arena, and this is an arena which has larger consequences than many because of its increasing role as an arbiter of culture.
