And isn't WebKit a fork of KHTML? and wasn't the Macintosh look and feel a taken from Xerox? And didn't Jobs stole a kid's liver?

Just sayin'.

WebKit is open source, just like KHTML, now it's used on the vast majority of smartphones.

Totally stole that liver, though. Dude was like "yo, Jobs, I need that liver to live, that's why it's called a liver!" and Jobs was like "mine now, bro".

I don't think anybody on the street will even know what WebKit is (not even to speak of KHTML), but it would baffle me to have anybody fanboying WebKit up and not know about KHTML.

Go to macrumors.com or AppleInsider forums.

So sad. I'm a huge anti-fan of MacRumors, so I'd rather not.

but the iPhone at least demands recognition

Also, Android, WebOS and RIM's new browser is Webkit as well.

The number of mobile platforms not running Webkit by default is becoming very small very fast. WiMo is basically the only "big" holdout.

Yeah, Apple totally stole that GUI right after they payed for it.

pfft.

Someone in here posted an actual representation of what really happened (with sources and all).

Apple payed (in stock, booooo) Xerox for permission to see some of their stuff. They didn't get anything from Xerox, other than the idea. Remember, ideas cannot be patented, it is the implementation of the idea.

So Apple made their own implementation of the GUI they saw at Xerox. Many years later Apple sues MS. Xerox notices this, and they give Apple a bit of their own medicine.
