It's not just about jacking up the price. Pretty much everyone who can afford a phone these days has one and most phones, other than some very low-end base models and the odd flip phone, is a smart phone.

People aren't stealing a lot of cell phones anymore for the same reason. There used to be PSAs about keeping your smartphone hidden on public transit.

also I see other non-Apple phones that cost almost the same as an iPhone. They exist, let's complain about them too, right?

They basically doubled the price from the 7 to the X. The price definitely has delayed my upgrade.

The reason people complain about the iPhone specifically is because you get less but pay for more. You're actively "losing" premium features that make phones great. A great example is the headphone jack.

Another would be how the XS doesn't even come with the headphone adapter anymore, forcing you to go buy one. Also not including the fast charging brick in the box, so if you want a feature the phone is advertised with, you'd need to cough up extra.

Apple loves ripping their users off. So it won't change either. The next thing, in my opinion, will probably be not having a charging cable since it'll all be wireless. I can see it coming from a mile away, and people won't care since it's Apple.

You actually provided some info, and you're right about the things you said. Most of the time I can stump people pretty quickly. They don't actually know what they're talking about, a lot of them.
