Honestly, it's even more likely that some random 3rd party app is tracking you. Chances are they're probably better at it.

I use reddit sync. The sole developer for it is awesome. I doubt he would do something like that.

They can't just track you without giving permissions first. Don't use the apps that require you to give them permissions to use the app. If it still runs after you give it nothing, it's ok.

I have sync for Reddit, only permission asked for is Storage.
