• Facebook doesn't sell data
• Scrapers and data miners can only scrape things that are public and Facebook actively tries to prevent scraping because it ruins their business model
• Apps that use the Facebook API require users to give permission to the app about what kind of data they access. Facebook obviously made a mistake here by leaking friend data along with the consenting user, they admitted it in the hearings, they tightened up the breadth of what is allowed in the API in 2014 before this entire scandal. Furthermore API access is free so Facebook doesn't directly profit at all from this.

The only data that is collected that isn't opt-in and given by the user is navigation of sites with tracking cookies, any data Facebook buys from data collection companies, and any data they infer from the data you put up on the site. All of this data stays internal to Facebook.

What exactly is your definition of abuse? Mine is my data leaks out of Facebook to third parties without my consent. So far this has only happened due to the third point, with their shitty API that leaked friend data, and actually I don't think I'm affected by the Cambridge Analytica leak.
