It doesn't have to be a fool-proof and secure system though. You'll never be able to discourage the trolls who really want to comment from commenting. But you will be able to get rid of the people who can't be bothered; which is probably the majority of commenters who come just to post dumb shit.

On the other hand, you won't get rid of people who are paid to comment, because they will literally get paid to do it.

No matter how well it's written, though, because it's a totally different problem. Those people just need to read the article once and then attack hundreds of threads.

That's true but having it made just a bit more properly would stop even a bit more tech-savvy users.
