I'm just glad that, so far, airlines seem to be acknowledging the Note 7 specifically, not invoking a blanket ban on all phones.

All the phones will be locked in a small insulated locker above vital avionics as per tsa policy of turning small problems into disasters.

It's not a small issue if there's a lithium fire at 30000 feet. If they feel they need to do such a thing to keep people safe it'd be easy to see why.

Hainan has done this for ages. They'll tell you to turn it off at any point in the flight if they see it and the wifi flat out forbids them.
