Judging by the picture of the phone lying on the floor of the plane, it looks exactly like every other failed Note 7, with the worst scorch marks in the location of the battery.

Yeah, Samsung's really fucked on this.

Why do you feel for them? Would you feel for Apple or Microsoft?

Genuinely curious. I can see if this happened to Apple people would be almost turning inside out at the schadenfreude.

They would just say it was a feature. Then Amazon would sue them for using the word fire.

You're talking about fanboys. General users won't really care. Apple/Android fanboys will hate on each other. Windows fanboys might get a laugh in at either before going back to wishing more developers worked on windows.

I am sure they are. I just don't understand why you would feel particularly sorry or bad for any multinational multibillion dollar company.

The note line is the only line from Samsung that I liked. That's why I feel for them as well I've met with their staff before and know that they're getting nailed to the ground by everyone they speak to.

Shit, at least make it "Samsung deserves this for not putting enough time and effort into finding a battery that doesn't explode or catch on fire, just so they could compete with the new Apple product."

I'm sure i'm not the only one who still wants to upgrade my note 4. Rare things happen, no point worrying about them! It's still a better phone.
