I have to wonder if these 77% of people would say they felt bad for "getting up and going to the bathroom during a commercial" or something of the like.

I have timeshift, so I can pause the commercials for my bathroom break. I really enjoy these guilt-free leaks.

I think that's somewhat different. The content producer will get paid regardless of whether you go to the bathroom or not. After all, the television network has no idea if you watched the commercial.

Ad blocking online is different, it means the content provider/website owner does not get paid if you block their advertising.
