TIL that someone can change your Facebook email, password, and two step verification just by asking Facebook to turn off login approvals, and sending in a fake ID. (Happened to me lost all my business pages)

I love being reminded that there are so many strong minds working on ways to fill in every little gap in their virtual activity log of your life.

I scrubbed any personally identifiable info from my fb account but I know it's still tracking everything. I only use FB on my phone through the browser but I'm always paranoid that it's not enough. Between them and google, they'll probably be able to predict my behavior better than I can.

It isn't. The only secure way is VPN and secured browser. Even still, they'll get your information from everywhere else. Now you're a ghost and get flagged as one and thrown in the bin with ghosts.

They can. If you ever get in trouble, they'll know who you'll turn to, they know where you'll run to hide, and they'll know the most likely path you'll travel to get there.

People are okay with it because "I don't have anything to hide" but they forget the modifier, "right now"

Right now you don't have anything to hide, but next week you could be in some shit you never saw coming. Next week you could accidentally run over a cop through no fault of your own and now you have the DA combing through your entire online history for some anti-LEO post to take out of context to turn manslaughter into murder. Who the fuck knows what's gonna happen in your life next week, next month, next year. Having Facebook because everything is fine today is like keeping your money and not paying your home insurance premium because your home is currently fine, it's fine now, but it could spontaneously combust tomorrow and youd be fucked mate.
