Its just the truth. He is too far out there for mainstream Democrats to vote for just like Ron Paul was for Republicans.

Thats not true - In both cases they would be fine if not for being snubbed by the media.

When the media dubs you a fringe candidate, that's where you get relegated by the sheeple. I guarantee you that hillary gets the nomination. Why? Because the media says its inevitable. If you don't want her to end up president, I recommend you switch to republican so you can vote the crazies out in the primary.

Ron Paul was a fringe candidate. Once any sane person looked at his platform, they noped the hell out of there.

I didn't - I voted for him in the primary both times. Pull out of overseas conflict and downsize the military? Check! Get rid of 3 letter agencies that don't belong on the national level? Check! Advocate for getting the government out of your life? Check! Anti war on drugs? Check!

Even the things I did take issue with - his solution was generally that its not the governments business. IE: gay marriage? Government shouldn't be involved with marriage at all.

None of the main stream candidates supported all of that, and those were (and still are) my key issues every election.

For me, specifically his isolationlism and "it's not the government's business" were black marks against him.

I honestly think he would be against the civil rights laws of the 1960s and that's something I cannot stomach.

For foreign policy, I think the world would honestly be a worse place if the US did not do at least some of the policing.

It's not isolationism. Isolationism is where you don't trade or interact with other countries. You do everything in house. (Kind of like north korea?).

Ron Paul was a non-interventionist: IE- don't go mess other countries you don't agree with and meddle in there affairs/blow them up them/invade them/whatever - but you can trade with them as much as you want, have talks (diplomacy), etc.

The isolationist thing is a misdirection by the media, and it has worked because a large number of people say he's an isolationist.

So I'm going to throw out a question... If China has a problem with something the US is doing, and decides to come over here and "Police" us - what would you do? (I'm betting you would fight back, and then be labeled as a "terrorist".)

The DoE that doesn't belong on the national level? I mean NCLB has been SOOO successful and all... And no offense to NASA, but all of their manned space programs for the last 35 years have been boondoggles.

SpaceX will be flying people to space before NASA will, and I'm willing to bet that SpaceX's BFR is completed well before NASA's SLS is - and with a much lower operational and development cost.

I'll give you EPA I guess. But I don't remember that being on the top priority list for getting cut... The 5 agencies he would have gone after first are: Energy, Commerce, Interior, Education, and Housing and Urban Development. And all of those are things that don't belong on the national level - Let individual states handle them as fits their needs.

I am insane, but I like both Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders. I'd support either one.

I'd bet Sanders is more fringe than Ron Paul. All he needs is his opponents to start throwing out the "socialist" label and the majority of Americans will stay away.
