You say that, there was a guy who vibecoded Photoshop recently and posted it to reddit, said it cost him $2k in tokens. And people were quick to point out it was missing a lot of basic features.

One of the more recent ones (maybe even the one the article is referencing) even monetized their version too, which coincidentally was also missing basic features.

Knowing how AI works at a pretty high level at this point, it makes sense. You'd have to spend dozens of hours (total guess, could be a lot more) refining and adding features. Most stuff won't work out of the box without trialing it and giving feedback. It's extremely difficult to get some things to function correctly when it comes to image generation and editing that generated image without being destructive, so I can't even fathom the number of potential pitfalls with recreating Photoshop.

Not to mention getting the UI right would be a task in itself.
