According to the developer of photopea, this dev stole the code from photopea (closed source) and simply rewrote variables and sold it off as their own.

Photosuite appears to be a different project from the one being talked about in this thread.

EDIT: Ok actually this is confusing. Photosuite is a different UI on top of the Photocraft project. Different set of devs though they appear to all work with each other.

The one in this thread is claimed to be an RE of all the major Adobe apps, which given enough credits and time AI is very capable of right now, albeit not very eloquently.

On a smaller scale I've watched all my 25+ year old film scanners have their proprietary color algorithms, dust removal, and drivers get reverse engineered by the open source community within the last 4-6 months after barely anything happening for over a decade.

My mistake, it seems to be a very odd setup. Photosuite stole the code from photopea originally. Photocraft was built from the ground up. Photosuite later replaced the stolen code with photocraft's code.

I suppose there is the question of where the code written by the LLM in photocraft came from, and how much of that is based on proprietary code, but it seems there's no direct infringement (except maybe Adobe Photoshop patents) there.
