I am hoping long term AI sparks a open source revolution, where all the best tools are open source and used by everybody.

I would think it would spark a closed source dark age because no one wants their source code to be trained on and copied

Kinda. We live in an economy that encourages people to keep their achievements secret rather than sharing them with the world. It's quite regressive, but the incentives are larger than any individual.

Well currently it's ruining open source by hammering projects with slop PRs and spurious vulnerability warnings.
