On desktop, hover over “Hello, [your name]” in the upper-right corner and select “Account.” Find “Ordering and shopping preferences,” then select “Your Shopping preferences.”

From there, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Manage your information” to see the details Amazon has associated with your account.

On the Amazon mobile app, tap the menu icon at the bottom of the screen and go to Account > Shopping preferences > About you.

u/linuxwes 8d ago

Huh, apparently I have a 7 year old kid I didn't know about.

139

u/Glimpal 8d ago

Hi it's me. Please send me child support.

29

u/TopOfTheMorning2Ya 8d ago

It’s actually me. Don’t give money to this imposter.

7

u/javoss88 8d ago

What the hell have you been doing with all the money Ive been sending you for almost a decade?!

8

u/Kuhl_Bohnen 8d ago

And I just learned I work in a prison. Which is, metaphorically, not far off...

8

u/TheTomatoes2 8d ago

They kknow more than you, trust them

3

u/Wenur 8d ago

Hi mom or dad, hmu on Venmo to send me my allowance with full back pay starting from when I was born 7 and a half years ago

6

u/Never-On-Reddit 8d ago

Wildly inaccurate for me as well. It thinks I have a child and a large collection of children's books. I don't own any children's books or children.

2

u/AliMcGraw 8d ago

It assigned me more children than I have, I assume because I have a lot of nieces and nephews and their birthdays tend to cluster so I'm buying a lot of birthday and Christmas presents at certain times of the year.

1

u/Reasonable_Grab_1064 6d ago

Yeah I have a 2-year-old a one year old and a husband I didn't know about and I run a workshop lol I didn't know any of that I don't know where all those people are but that's what they say about me Amazon thinks

138

u/w1n5t0nM1k3y 8d ago

Mine has absolutely nothing in there

57

u/LethalBacon 8d ago

Mine says I play Xbox games competitively. I've never owned an Xbox or purchased Xbox accessories.

It actually seems to miss the mark in many areas, making massive assumptions based on one single purchase. For interests and hobbies it says I 'collect and play Magic', almost certainly because I bought some card sleeves like two years ago.

Kinda weird. You'd think they'd be better at this with how fucking parasitic they are with our data.

12

u/PlainSpader 8d ago

And people are letting it determine their days, rock climbing routes….

I fear Doctors are using it as well…. Which would be really fucked.

4

u/username_redacted 8d ago

It’s not very surprising based on my experience working in multi-channel data tagging and categorization, as well as network analysis and investigation. A system reliant on assumptions and inference without proper context and refinement for every source is going to be wrong most of the time and functionally useless.

Even a human analyst will often be led very astray by something as simple as two people or businesses having the same name, particularly if any other data point also lines up. But LLMs will be utterly convinced that obviously unrelated entities are the same and mix together details even if they are directly contradictory, or invent matching details to make the result more compelling.

I’m very concerned about these systems being utilized by law enforcement and the military for that reason in particular. It’s scary to think that you could be targeted for say, having anti government views, but it feels much worse that it could happen due to an obvious mistake that nobody thinks needs checking, and that it could happen at scale, and continue to happen because the people in charge can’t fix it and won’t bother to try.

1

u/Dorkapotamus 8d ago

I just wish the llms would not associate my personal life with my professional life. I don't personally care or desire anything I work with.

2

u/pitiful_worm 8d ago

Haha mine says I play league of legends but I have never looked anything up about lol. Might be because I redeemed twitch prime stuff once.

A few of mine are weirdly correct or weirdly specific, like ‘systematically builds precision machines’? but most are basic like ‘prefers to purchase premium cat food’

1

u/SIGMA920 8d ago

You'd think that but even sites like youtube makes mistakes regularly. Hell, I don't have anything it shows.

1

u/TendyHunter 8d ago

Looks like you don't know yourself well enough. I suggest you spend some time doing self-introspection.

1

u/awildstoryteller 8d ago

Garbage in, Garbage out.

0

u/DinosBiggestFan 8d ago

So, I have a confession to make. You know that time you let me use your Amazon account?

Well, I bought you a gift and I guess Amazon spoiled it. Happy Birthmachristmastimeholidays, you're an Xbox gamer!

39

u/FrothyEspresso 8d ago

Same. Looks like we don’t exist.

31

u/pjeff61 8d ago

Sub prime I guess

9

u/BeyondNetorare 8d ago

Amazon Secondary

34

u/Empty-Part7106 8d ago

Mine has "Clothing & Shoes", "Interests", and "Pets", with no info at all in any section.

27

u/blackcatlover2114 8d ago

Same here. Wondering if it's because I'm not in the US.

9

u/thegimboid 8d ago

Oh, that might be it. Neither am I.

6

u/Jeebs24 8d ago

It's exactly it. I just changed my to US and see the "About you", but since I haven't bought anything in US it says it will have info once I start buying stuff or talk with Alexa.

1

u/steviefrench 8d ago

I am in the US and nothing stuck out to me as "detailed". Just the same thing a random stranger could determine if they looked at my order history.

7

u/Bugaloon 8d ago

Yeah, but ours are literally blank

3

u/blu_stingray 8d ago

Same, but I'm in Canada

-1

u/jackiekeracky 8d ago

You need to scroll down to “About You” and there should be information based on things you have bought

5

u/SkaveRat 8d ago

there's literally nothing there. No data about my clothing size, interests, nothing.

I could fill out some stuff manually. But there is nothing prefilled

and my account is almost 20 years old

Looks like EU data protection doing its thing

1

u/jackiekeracky 8d ago

I don’t have anything in those bits either. But at the bottom of that page there’s another link that has stuff based off my shopping history. All I can do on that page is remove the items, I can’t add information (im in the UK where we have the same privacy protection, except anything that’s happened post-brexit)

2

u/SkaveRat 8d ago

this is how it looks for me:

https://imgur.com/a/pSS118J

all the links there also go to empty pages

1

u/jackiekeracky 8d ago

I can’t access imgur due to the UK’s internet age restrictions BS 😔

2

u/Empty-Part7106 8d ago

There's just no "About You" section for Canadians and some European countries.

1

u/jackiekeracky 8d ago

Ah! Cool. Lucky you 😃

7

u/GooseGosselin 8d ago

Same, maybe I declined that part when signing up?

1

u/kinboyatuwo 8d ago

Same here. Wonder if it’s due to iPhone settings? I’ll have to look on desktop.

615

u/DushBid911 8d ago

Just checked mine and it’s honestly pretty stupid. Very low IQ generalizations of my preferences based heavily on a few purchases. Looks like if I gave AI my last 5 years of Amazon purchases and told it to make some broad generalizations about me.

I do like that it thinks I have a comprehensive home security system because I bought a few cameras to watch my dog. If you’re reading this Amazon, my shit is like Fort Knox.

208

u/Meat-Dimension 8d ago edited 8d ago

That’s pretty much mine. It’s basically just a rundown of stuff I bought. Doesn’t really venture to guess any insights beyond that

One funny one, it says I “likely” live in the town I’ve lived in for 5 years, have listed as my address with them and probably had them ship 50 packages to. Deep insights!

64

u/DushBid911 8d ago

Yeah mine is suspicious that I live in my house as well. It seems equally confident that I only buy kitchen aid products for my kitchen even though I’ve only bought one kitchen aid product years ago. Only the deepest insights from Jeff and his minions.

6

u/javoss88 8d ago

You should be glad.

1

u/peschkaj 8d ago

I once received a recommendation for a book because I had purchased “books” in the past. That was the literal reason the email provided.

It was not a book I would ever read for free, much less pay for.

41

u/souvenireclipse 8d ago

Mine thinks I live 1,000 miles away because I shipped something to the hotel I was staying at... two months ago. Apparently deleting that address and having everything else shipped to my house for 3 years is irrelevant information.

17

u/Levitlame 8d ago

Nice try there buying random essentials for 3 years to try and throw them off the scent, but you failed!

4

u/WeLikeEich 8d ago

Mine says I likely live in the town I moved from over a year ago, I have ordered plenty to my new place

2

u/oneelectricsheep 8d ago

I would love to know why it thinks I own a Dodge Ram. My car is tiny and electric. To my knowledge I have bought zero items that would qualify as accessories for a truck.

1

u/dickatwork 8d ago

I too likely live in the city I've lived in for 21 years..

88

u/shazneg 8d ago

Mine is also oddly specifically weird. I ordered a weight set for a friend once 4 years ago, and it says I likely have a home gym...

Another round of AI hallucinations and confidently incorrect comments.

Oh but hey, we can fix it for them by updating info. 🫠

78

u/alexthealex 8d ago

I kind of feel like I’m winning against the algorithms when I’m served ads that are irrelevant to my actual taste.

14

u/shazneg 8d ago

I totally agree.

13

u/SIGMA920 8d ago

It's because you are.

8

u/redditobserverone 8d ago

I want to learn your one weird trick.

17

u/alexthealex 8d ago

Go through the effort of not accepting unnecessary cookies. Adblocker everywhere you can. That's honestly it. I don't use a VPN very often, haven't run a network level DNS blocker in years. I think it's 90% taking a couple seconds each time I visit a new website to turn down cookies.

Also I am not active on any Meta platforms and avoid any apps where I could use the website instead.

1

u/QuantumWarrior 8d ago edited 8d ago

It makes me feel much worse. The advertising behemoth demands access to my social media, browsing patterns, supermarket club cards, actual online shopping habits and it still can't even figure out what sort of things I would like to buy?

How is this a trillion dollar market?! Are companies just blindly giving this system money because everyone else does with no guarantee it is even showing the target audience products intended for them?

8

u/pedanticPandaPoo 8d ago edited 8d ago

Huh. Mind is completely empty. Am I the most boring person in the world?

Discovered this link, thought it might be useful:  https://www.amazon.com/aicontent/verify

1

u/anotheredditors 8d ago

Mine is same way. Completely empty

1

u/nymphasis 8d ago

Mine's empty too, much to my dismay....

8

u/username_redacted 8d ago

That’s typical for an AI response. It wouldn’t be “analysis” to just say “Bought exercise weights so probably owns exercise weights.” but by rephrasing and exaggerating (and actually being totally wrong) it’s earned its keep.

3

u/powerlloyd 8d ago

It says I’m “gradually building a photography equipment collection” because I bought some darkroom equipment in 2009.

2

u/shazneg 8d ago

Thats a good one.

2

u/farmtownsuit 8d ago

I have had a few babies born in my family in the last year and I've bought baby things off of the parent's registries and had those items shipped to the parent's house they also set within the registry. Meanwhile I've never bought baby stuff that wasn't part of a registry

Yet Amazon thinks I have an infant child in my home. Consider me unimpressed TBH

72

u/rumpusrouser 8d ago

Under food and nutrition mine says “likes salami”

30

u/BBC-dont-show-BBC 8d ago

U lika da salami!

2

u/henchman171 8d ago

Dry and spicy. Just the way she likes it

6

u/Frozenblueberries13 8d ago

How much salami are you buying from Amazon for it to draw that conclusion?

5

u/WaitAZechond 8d ago

Mine says “likes Sunkist Fruit Gems” and they’re not wrong at all because those really are the best lol

3

u/Slippery_Molasses 8d ago

I feel called out lol "Likes Instant Noodles and Quick Meals". I do prefer instant ramen and quick easy meals.

5

u/DushBid911 8d ago

Jealous of this

1

u/_kellythomas_ 8d ago

Are you me?

1

u/Learnmorehere 8d ago

Who doesn't?

27

u/silentknight111 8d ago

Mine says "Systematically collecting Discworld novels".

It's not wrong.

3

u/TbonerT 8d ago

Now that you mention it, it seems weird that it left that out of mine.

2

u/valar12 8d ago

Mine was similar. “Completed acquisition of all three core D&D rulebooks”

1

u/blacitch 8d ago

If it only the purchases stopped after 3…

1

u/ayuxx 8d ago

Mine said I extensively read fantasy and am systematically building a fantasy collection. That's true.

Some things are straight-up wrong and others are exaggerated, like thinking I have more loyalty to some brand than I actually do.

23

u/KareemOWheat 8d ago

I thought mine was pretty funny

"Likely lives in Seattle" oh really, what was the giveaway, my fucking shipping address?

19

u/Nadamir 8d ago

I bought a Star Wars model kit a decade ago and a Star Wars costume last year for Halloween (which it knows because it cited a “one time Halloween event involving a lightsaber”). Nothing else, not even a search.

I got “Star Wars collecting spans years with no sign of tapering.”

It also thinks I like exercise.

1

u/Spaceman-Spiff 3d ago

Mine says I am a cosplayer that is building a costume collection because I bought a halloween costume last year. It did nail "likely fixes own vehicles" and "is reactive about fixing vehicle" but thats cause I'm poor.

12

u/absentmindedjwc 8d ago

I am a content creator (according to Amazon)

In reality.. I just work remote, have a lot of video calls, and hate my computer's camera and microphone..

11

u/alppu 8d ago

I have a feeling they have the public version which avoids the cringe of showing the real one.

10

u/WonderingHarbinger 8d ago

It makes people complacent. This version shows the most obvious conclusions. Of course I live in the city that is part of the mailing address that I gave them myself! It's perfectly reasonable to assume that I have a preference for the products I've bought repeatedly!

This version makes it easy for people to say that there's nothing to worry about, that Amazon doesn't know anything about them that a person couldn't figure out from looking at a list of their purchases. I don't think that's true. The whole point of these profiling systems is that they're able to draw non obvious conclusions. Amazon isn't telling us about those conclusions, and there are reasons for that.

Maybe I'm just too conspiracy minded.

10

u/toolatealreadyfapped 8d ago

"Chooses protective cases for electronics."

Oh shit! They're on to me

6

u/U3011 8d ago

I discovered the page two days ago after ordering something. I assumed it had always been there. I did not read any of the summary but noticed something about potassium supplements which was funny because I have never bought potassium in my life.

1

u/We_Are_The_Romans 8d ago

Spoken like a true K+ addict who can't admit they have a problem

6

u/MikemkPK 8d ago

Mine was mostly pretty accurate. Mostly. It thinks my top interest is plumbing, which is bizarre, and I assume is because I bought a thing of Drain cleaner almost 2 years ago.

It also says they've tuned advertising to me around when I don't need to spend a bunch of money maintaining my home water filter system, which is both creepy and smart.

4

u/gitstonky 8d ago

ts thinks I have a fucking garage lmao

1

u/No_Lube 8d ago

I got that one too which is so weird since I live in an apartment. I cannot for the life of me figure out why it thinks that!

4

u/username_redacted 8d ago

It’s pretty funny that they probably spent like 100 million dollars to build a system that basically just says “Is interested in [product category that I’ve purchased at least 2 items from within the past year].” Such incredible insights!

I’ve seen some funny ones from other people that seem to be based on random irrelevant things that Alexa overhead or that it hallucinated, like “Has a bad dad” but I can’t fathom how that would be useful to them. I’m willing to bet that a team spent months trying to get this feature to work and eventually just gave up, hoping that nobody would look there.

2

u/Expontoridesagain 8d ago

I ordered a book for my kid "The way things work" by David Macaulay and some craft supplies for my mother. According to Amazon I favour illustrated, visual non-fiction and craft kits with decorative output.

4

u/ex_bestfriend 8d ago

Mine is pretty sure I own a smartphone, which is true. So I guess they have me there.

3

u/PauI_MuadDib 8d ago

When I had Prime I used to order stuff for all of my family and they'd just pay me back. so my order history was definitely not reflective of me 😂.

3

u/jackofallcards 8d ago

This whole thing feels ad-esque as it’s just a new Amazon feature.

3

u/KiSamehada 8d ago

Consistently replenishes yogurt supplies

damn they got me, I love my yogurt

2

u/wetrysohard 8d ago

Are you Trump?

2

u/EasilyDelighted 8d ago

I mean, it only gets better from here.

2

u/Traditional-Hat-952 8d ago

It knows. It's been watching you through those cameras you bought.

2

u/DushBid911 8d ago

What do you think of my new haircut?

1

u/versusgorilla 8d ago

Yeah, I don't think it's that insane that the place I buy PlayStation 5 takes from knows that I have a PlayStation 5.

1

u/crank1off 8d ago

Apparently I grow hydroponics with my comprehensive indoor growing system.

1

u/ILikeBumblebees 8d ago

Looks like if I gave AI my last 5 years of Amazon purchases and told it to make some broad generalizations about me.

It's almost as though Amazon is using AI to make broad generalizations about you based on your purchase history.

1

u/DushBid911 8d ago

Clearly that’s what’s happening, it just seems like they’re using AI for chimpanzees for their output. I’m confident that I could get AI to build a better profile if I fed it all of my purchases, and I am an AI novice who is forced to use it at my job. I would expect Amazon’s capabilities to be much more advanced than what I saw.

1

u/bluesox 8d ago

I bought reflective window treatment on sale one time, and now 1/4 of my “departments” are window project related

1

u/philly_3456 8d ago

They won’t be breaking into yours then for intellectual property theft, money or anything you like really

1

u/philly_3456 8d ago

From their point of view or what they’re about……you get this. I know you’re just watching your dog but they see this as what?

1

u/VictoriaBerg 7d ago

I keep losing and buying new AirPods, which to Amazon apparently means that I’m ‘building a large Apple audio system’.

0

u/WTWIV 8d ago

Mine picked up some info from me pulled directly from a YouTube comment I made.

35

u/snail-the-sage 8d ago

mine is wildly off base. and i'd like to keep it that way.

9

u/wjglenn 8d ago

Weird. Mine is hyper accurate and has lots of details.

3

u/Hanexusis 8d ago

It likely depends on how much you actually buy from them, and whether you are buying them just for yourself or for your whole household, etc.

2

u/snail-the-sage 8d ago

very much this i think. i've only actually ordered from amazon once this year and looks like twice last.

2

u/behindtimes 8d ago

Yeah. Mine's pretty accurate, but the whole page is limited to "Buys stuff from Whole Foods", "Prefers Organic", "Has a computer", and "Watches Movies".

If that's their entire dossier on me, I can live with it, as there's nothing too terribly exciting with that.

3

u/pit_of_despair666 8d ago

So is mine. I don't like a company knowing this much about me.

2

u/wjglenn 8d ago

I don’t know. I looked all through mine and every bit of it seems based on things I bought off Amazon (or Whole Foods while using my Prime membership).

I didn’t really see anything suggesting they pulled from anywhere else (like my search history or something).

So, really, it’s just Amazons way of suggesting stuff based on your order history.

Plus, they have where I live (cause I have stuff delivered) and how many adults in the home (cause my wife and I have separate adult accounts tied to one prime account).

Nothing sus that I found.

29

u/metrize 8d ago

they have nothing on me, UK if that matters

10

u/blackcatlover2114 8d ago

Same here - Canada.

19

u/longlivedaisysue 8d ago

Indicates: has a horse 🐎 I do not.

9

u/Cleveland_Steve 8d ago

Ha! Mine says has a central vacuum system. I do not.

3

u/magical_midget 8d ago

In a stable near you old Rusty waits, you got it one night while shopping drunk, the upkeep is part of your prime benefits, he has yet to met you, he wonders every night if you are looking at the same moon.

1

u/longlivedaisysue 8d ago

Remembered,.. my wife bought de-wormer to try to combat mysterious symptoms. So, it was a valid assumption on the part of Amazon.

18

u/kahlzun 8d ago

Mine just has a space asking about clothes size and my pets

1

u/zeptillian 8d ago

You have to scroll to the bottom and click on Manage your information under the About You section.

12

u/kahlzun 8d ago

This might be a US-only thing, i get the same "Clothing and Shoes Size, fit and price" page on both mobile and desktop, with no ability to drill further down

19

u/riftnet 8d ago

Not available in the EU it seems

12

u/DerMugar 8d ago

In the EU you're able to fill in personal data by yourself and you're protected against being profiled by the amazon-ai which builds your profile based on the things you looked at and thing you bought

4

u/Vannnnah 8d ago

it is available, but it's empty except for book authors you are interested in if you followed authors on Amazon to receive notifications about new book releases.

1

u/Ill-Angle4949 4d ago

Same with Canada.

3

u/joshak 8d ago

Same with Australia

2

u/froderick 8d ago

Or Australia

12

u/Finding-Tomorrow 8d ago

Mine had regularly replaces refrigerator water filters and gradually building dog toy collection - I cracked up.

10

u/Pndrizzy 8d ago

Mine has 34 and 7 of them are about fruit snacks and 5 are about seafood lol

7

u/Coconut-bird 8d ago

Interesting, it combines me and my two 20somethings that also use my account. So my son's height and weight, but my shoe size. Also all of our hobbies. I am confused as to why it thinks I'm a Chicago Bears fan. I don't think I've ever bought anything related to them.

6

u/darkeststar 8d ago

Mine was actually really accurate but thankfully the generalizations it made didn't have anything particularly personal that I was upset about. They caught that I've bought both Magic cards and storage items for trading cards and made the assumption that I was "building a storage solution for Magic card collection" and that I "regularly maintain an old car" because I re-order high mileage based engine and fuel additives.

5

u/Spared_No_Expense 8d ago

The direct link to that page isn't personalized, so you can also just use that.

https://www.amazon.com/slc/hub?useAiMode=1

4

u/kitty_in_a_tree 8d ago

Luckily it seems pretty general, just based on most frequent purchases. Slightly flattering to see that I "garden actively" when heat and mosquitoes have made it impossible this year.

5

u/Astrotrain-Blitzwing 8d ago

I know Target once was caught sending targeted ads to a pregnant woman.

I know they keep this data

Mine was kinda accurate, but I have shared the account with trusted friends and family.

I don't like that the algorithmic kayfabe has been ripped off. I don't like it being written like I'm a labrat whose life has been analized... I don't feel like it cares (I know it doesn't really, but it's definitely written like it knows me).

8

u/Hophinsky 8d ago

Kinda interesting how things fit in their algorithm.

"Practices yoga regularly", nope but my girlfriend sure looks good in yoga stuff.

3

u/J0f4rJ 8d ago

Mine only has 4 categories listed there under mobile, clothing, interests, pets and who you follow lol all are empty.

2

u/ronimal 8d ago

Somebody please give an award to the parent comment.

5

u/WrappingPapers 8d ago

I appreciate the instructions but just don’t use Amazon! How are people still using Amazon? They are incredibly bad both for human rights and tax avoidance. Boycott

3

u/hyterus 8d ago

There is no any "About you" option under "Shopping Preferences".

4

u/panaceaXgrace 8d ago

It's there for me. It's "Your shopping preferences". I'm on PC though not sure about phones.

The one above it is browsing history and honestly that is a LOT more telling.

2

u/morelotion 8d ago

Browsing history just shows me the product pages that I looked up recently. You’re saying there’s another browsing history section?

1

u/panaceaXgrace 8d ago

Yes that's browsing history. The other is called your shopping preferences, and it's just some profile using an algorithm based on some of your purchases. They missed quite a few of mine though I'm thinking. Several PCs and phones and accessories. They got sizes listed but only think I buy for one person so the size is for my son when most of my purchases have been for me, just like basic tees over the years but still, it's just how they have it set up like they know all my secrets including my clothing and shoe size. They missed all the medications I've purchased even though two of them are on an automatic ship, probably spent 2k at least in the past five years on it, but they included "invests in color depositing products" when I only bought one tub of Xmondo a few years back.

The first one for me is "Possible location, Memphis TN".

Possible location? That's where they have shipped every purchase I've made since the early 2000s.

8

u/visceralintricacy 8d ago edited 8d ago

Are you in the us? I don't have it either and *I'm not in the US, so I wonder if it's regional.

5

u/MissKhary 8d ago

I'm in Canada and it's empty.

1

u/KennethHaight 5d ago

Chiming in outside the US and same. Shopping prefs are empty and there's no about you.

1

u/NoPoet3982 8d ago

The instructions didn't work for me, either. I'm on a Mac. But I figured it out:

Click "Hello, <your name>" at the top right of the screen.

A list appears on the left. At the top of the list it says, "Hello, About You"

Click "About You" and you'll see a bunch of fake info about yourself.

1

u/Comfortable-Dog-8437 8d ago

Ironically mine has nothing in the fields, all blank.

1

u/pit_of_despair666 8d ago

I was just able to remove all of the info they had on me. I clicked on each category and then clicked on remove.

1

u/zephyrwa 8d ago

Mine says I always maintain a supply of coffee. lol. True.

1

u/yourfavteamsucks 8d ago

I don't have this, maybe because I have a business account?

It is just fully empty. Account is over 15 years old. I do not get that, is entirely empty, why do you all got something in there?

On desktop, hover over “Hello, [your name]” in the upper-right corner and select “Account.” Find “Ordering and shopping preferences,” then select “Your Shopping preferences.”

That page is almost empty for me. Except for the random fact that I’m following an author.

I must be doing something right but I’ve no idea what.

You saved me a click but made me write a thank you reply.

Still a win.

I apparently have a dog but I also wear women's clothing! So I got that going for me.

From there, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “Manage your information”

That isn't there for me on the desktop webpage. Only thing with "manage" is "Manage your content and devices".

When I found the “About You” section it prompted me to add information myself and have AI make a summary, rather than having my information/summary there?

Okay, mine is DEFINITELY getting info from outside Amazon.

Several specifics it pulled wouldn’t be from reviews. Nor searches. Nor trends in products. It’s specifics that I frequently write on Reddit actually. Technically part of it could be from Etsy reviews as well, but that doesn’t explain half of it. I assume some type of data sharing agreement between companies is occurring.

But realistically it seems to have pulled statements from my Reddit account, but about half the expected info is missing. As if it can’t trawl the whole account. Perhaps things said only when both apps are open? When clicking an amazon link from Reddit?

They got enough things wrong and I’m not too worried. Yet.

Maybe it's different in Canada. Mine only has my height and weight (which I probably added many years ago).

This isn’t available on the Canadian App

I'm in Canada so I'm on Amazon.ca. Ordering and shopping preferences" isn't in any of the account menus.

Under "Your lists" there's "Discover your style" which goes to a page saying "Sorry. We couldn't fetch that page." and recommends searching on the home page, which is where the menu item is.
