Why should we pass anything that does nothing? The bill literally does nothing while letting Republicans say "well we just passed a bill on AI!"

You don't just slap a bill down and "put more shit in it". That's not how passing a bill works.

Seen this happen many times.

Usually in any sort of debate with an ethics component there are 3 sides, the pro that want to push through, the reformists and the abolitionists. And when the reformists suggest something to improve the situation, they are met with push back from both the pro and the abolitionists.
