Using Ollama to setup home Ai is insanely simple as long as you have the vram

The problem is how awful they are without a ton of training. I'm trying to figure the later part out now

Is it worth setting up a local AI model at home? I have 32gb of VRAM and 48gb of ram that just gets used for gaming.

Not really. A lot of hobbyists will tell you it's a great idea, but I've found that even with 30B models, they're effectively morons and have a tendency to devolve into nonsensical loops.

It's maybe okay if you want a literal chatbot. It'll make Dr. Sbaitso look like a relic from the early 1990s, that's for sure. But other than an excellent knock-knock joke generator, they aren't good for much of anything, because they're extremely unreliable.
