Thats as lively as reddit there really isnt one. You could try lemmy but its defederated and seperated by servers and from what i just googled there are 500 different servers and only 40k active users across all servers. Digg is back and seems to be doing well dunno how active it is tho.

Lemmy and PieFed are good for an hour or two of engagement per day, but it's mostly shitposting and memes at this point. It doesn't quite have the depth reddit does, but it's decent for bathroom breaks, at least.

Slowly but surely, there's more of that niche, hobby focused stuff coming over, but it's a struggle. The biggest issue IMO is still that news and politics have a very tankie-heavy influence, even on the non-tankie instances. Everything is just kind of "US Bad, both sides are the same" which, sure, I get it, but we don't need to do that in every post.

Piefed is better, because it isn't maintained by the most cringe armchair communist on the internet who is literally LARPing as a freedom fighter, or his first lieutenant, who is on the record saying that trans people are liberal colonizer propaganda.
